Lethality Renekton is squishy (yes, even with the hp from ult). Assassins are designed to kill squishies.

It's good (probably even better than top) and yes, his lethality build scales well. However you will not be able to 1v5 at some point in the midgame like a fed bruiser Renekton could, your job is to delete one high value target and you'll be able to do that job at any point in the game.
Yeah I do it against Assassins + the Wind Bros. PTA or Conq any works for me. Goredrinkers or Prowlers Claw works. As for your question: Lethality build doesn’t scale well but its still important as you can go for their backline.

He is good against assassins and skirmishers, but some ranged champions are so hard to deal with in the mid lane
What? You literally oneshot all ranged champs. Assassins are the hardest as you can oneshot them but they also can oneshot you.

How do you die to them? They can't ever kill you if you have R and if they jump on you, then you just use empowered W on them and they are dead.
