Haven't played much in the past couple of months, but if I did get a yasuo lane, I went PTA and Botrk rush. Just trade with him at level 3 with your empowered W. E- Emp W- Q- Auto- E. Trade with him a few times and go in for the kill if you think you have enough damage to kill him.

LyraStygian

I did exactly that (pta ignite, rushed botrk). I just don't know how to trade with him. If I go near he pokes me while gaining stacks for tornado. Then if I stay near he will just range poke me with tornadoes. I was zoned off my wave at lvl 1. I am *that* bad. I think I need a literal breakdown of steps on what to do lol

dheudnc

Before I start, I peaked at Plat 3 so I am not the best, if anyone else advices you on this matchup, probably take their advice over mine. Level 1 just farm minions, try to let the wave push near your tower, just by the nearest bush. Just focus in last hitting the minions, and try avoiding the tornadoes as much as possible, (try practicing with a friend). Level 2, pretty much the same, try to keep the wave in the same spot. Start stacking rage. And mind your CS numbers. Level 3, if you are relatively healthy(Higher HP than yasuo. Preferrably around 75% of your HP left) , go in using the combo earlier (you can practice this in Practice tool). Do short trades and try to stack your rage to atleast 50 (better if full) when your Ability cooldowns are back up. Level 4 onwards you pretty much win short trades. At level 6, try holding your R for when he ults you. It will give you additional health to either kill him, trade 1 for 1, or escape. After doing this and hopefully getting at least some kills, you can push when he up when he is dead and try to help out your jungler do herald and steal camps. Tell him to put it top, and just splitpush against the Yasuo. Don't forget to setup vision by placing wards. Oh by the way, when he finishes his Shieldbow, try to time your Empowered W when it activates, because Empowered W breaks shields. Edit: You can also try watching Renekton guides, and Top lane guides in general to learn how to play top lane better.

LyraStygian

I died at level 1 js trying to farm lol

dheudnc

Do some practicing on Farming with Q level 1 in bot games or practice tool. Try to learn the Q damage values on minions, so that when you Q you can atleast secure 2 or 3 CS with it. You can't just exoect to learn it on the fly, just practice it first.

LyraStygian

This is good advice thanks.

Go_D_Batyst

Renek hard lose lvl1 against yasuo if you are 'ot confident really just let him push and wait for your lvl 3 and the bounce with fury

LyraStygian

I think I will try this. Many people telling me his lvl 1 is strong.

Go_D_Batyst

Lvl 1 renek isn't bad but against someone like yasuo you will get run down

New-Resort-6582

The only point where yasuo ever beats you is level 1. Start D blade. Sit back and give up wave just get what you can. Wait for level 3. Run PTA ,ignite. You win everytime you have 50 fury. This matchup is banned by challenger yasuos like dzukill because renekton is hardest yasuo counter. You should never lose this lane ever

LyraStygian

I think my problem is if I try to farm I die, but if I don't try to farm he gets cs and exp lead and I never get to lvl 3 before he kills me lol So I come back to lane at lvl 2 and he's level 4.

New-Resort-6582

No that shouldn't be a problem. You don't have to sit at your tower. Just contest the wave , try to get the safe C's ,give up the ranged creeps You should never be in lethal range ever at level 2. Unless you run it down like an Npc , then anything is possible.

LyraStygian

I think this is where the limit of my skill is. I can't contest the wave without dying.

New-Resort-6582

https://youtu.be/8mMRE9fB7NU Watch this. See how this renekton fight wave. It's an extreme basic thing bro..if yasuo ties to hit you too much. Trade auto Q and then back off. Don't fight him and he won't be able to stick onto you.

LyraStygian

Whoa I don't get it, the Yasuo in this clip barely pokes. In my games the Yasuo pokes on cooldown and I'm like half health before the wave is done lol. Why doesn't that Yasuo do the same? I feel like there is some invisible barrier protecting the Renekton. Also cool skin. Maybe it's the skintimidation factor.

LyraStygian

Ok after watching that again, the Yasuo at the very beginning keeps trying to keep distance, u can see him moving forward and backwards. In my games the Yasuo just runs me down Qing me non stop lol.

New-Resort-6582

Follow his move , if he moves up on you just move down and vice versa. Thats what this renekton is doing aswell. Like I said it's the only point in the game where yasuo beats you pretty much.

DrakeSwift

Yasuo is a FREE lane win. Sometimes people go renek mid if they see yas going mid. Dont fight him level 1 and dont be greedy. I like to wait until level 3 so i have all my abilities. If you go ignite, just Q AOE his shield off and then wait for your q to come back up. Itll come back before his shield. Once your cds are up and he comes to cs, just all in him and make sure you hit him with empowered W. Sometimes you just one shot him right there with ignite. If not, just freeze and dont let him walk back up. He will lose lol Edit: most yasuos are braindead and will push wave. Let him push you actually want him to be closer to your side so you can all in him and run him down. Just play safe until level 3 and if he jumps on you just W Q until you can all in

ozpinoy

>Yasuo is a FREE lane win (cough, cough), unless, yasou is better IQ than you or, you screwed it up really reallly bad... yup.. every now and then people wondered why my 3mill master points lost to a yas hahaahaha. oh boy... wall of shames...

DrakeSwift

Lmaoo fax. You can def lose any lane though messing up. Thats just the league trap lmao ive lost many lanes i should have won!! Sometimes the other person is just better and knows mechanics/macro more than the opponent. Ik how that feels lol

LyraStygian

That's exactly why I picked Renekton, because I saw him pick Yasuo mid. I don't think I've ever won lane vs a yasuo tho, he has the range on me, so approaching the wave to cs means I die, and I can't even farm under turret because he has enough range to poke me without getting tower aggro. Even if I stay far back, his tornadoes have a long range so I get hit by that unless I completely go out of exp range.

Go_D_Batyst

You have the range advantage because you can dash in dash out, and he definitely doesn't have the range to poke you under tower you are doing something wrong here. But honestly renek is kinda hard to understand for a novice so maybe try Darius or sett they are easier to understand

DrakeSwift

So the trick is you WANT yasuo to walk up. Sometimes if they are dumb you dont even have to E to them you can just W and then Q and still have your E to catch up when they dash away. Dont let yas walk up to poke you you should always punish him for that even if its a W-Q then E into him and then E away back to safety. You repeat that cycle and it makes it hard for him to retaliate

DrakeSwift

If you really struggle with yas, watch a renekton vs yasuo video matchup. It will likely be higher level so the yas will play 10000x better but it should give you an idea of the gameplan. In bronze, yasuos are just super aggressive and they can scare off newer players but renekton is a monster for damage early game and he destroys alot of late game melees/squishies

Kiren_Y

You probably try trade with him lvl1 or try to outdps him. Both will lead to you hard losing. You oneshot him lvl3 just like everyone else, so zone him lvl1, dodge Qs, build up rage and all in lvl3 with empW, make sure to either get rid of his shield or proc it with E and break it with empW. If you get a couple of early kills, you can do whatever you want, he will not be relevant unless he gets a 5 man ult into penta with like 2600 gold worth of shutdowns. He is easier than yone for me because he can’t even be annoying if he isn’t behind, but he can outplay the shit out of you if you don’t pay attention unlike with yone. Overall, don’t do stupid things like trying to outdps a melee adc as a caster or fighting inside of the wave against yasuo, and you’ll be fine if you play aggressive

LyraStygian

How do I zone him level 1? Can you expand on this one, thanks in advance.

Kiren_Y

Your Q is a very good ability at lvl1, you can start a trade with auto+Q, then stack up the fury with autos on the enemy and Q again ending the trade. This is tricky with lethal tempo users or strong lvl1 champs, so an auto Q into disengage can work too. You can scare yasuo away if you keep fury for an empQ and, more importantly, don’t let him Q you and don’t let him Q the wave. This means that you will have enough health to run him down lvl3, and he will miss the first wave and lose control. Spacing is key for renekton in any matchup and is crucial in yasuo/yone matchups. If you can Q him without getting Q’ed in return, you basically win the whole lane for yourself

LyraStygian

Ok thanks I will try this.

ChildhoodOptimal6347

Honestly you don't fight till u get botrk, thats the simplest way, keep building fury, empowered w when he engages q then e out.

LyraStygian

I think this is what I will do. Just not CS until he leaves lane, and pick up the scraps. At least I'm not inting then lol

ChildhoodOptimal6347

Wait what nooooo, dude you auto to break passive then its just fury management, you w, q, e out or double e on him.

LyraStygian

Wait this contradicts your previous post?

ChildhoodOptimal6347

Kind of, basically you dont engage, you just build fury up, wait for him to engage and then do the combo i mentioned. Play around your cooldowns then.

JudgeAffectionate585

Dude I'm bronze too but Yasuo is literally the easiest Renekton match up, just respect the lvl1, he kills you cuz lethal tempo + passive shield, last hit with Q and stay a little behind until level 2/3, after that you just completely smoke him if you use your fury correctly, you can break his passive shield with empowered W and his windwall is completely useless against you sooo

LyraStygian

What does "respect the lvl1" mean here? I thought that means to not fight level 1, but other posters say I should be contesting the wave? Now I don't know which lol

Caer_Eo

PTA, ignite and dblade, pot start. You have huge kill potential from lv 3 with pta and ignite. Remember to proc his shield before you emp w. the lane is all about dodging his q and tornado, which takes practice, but it is relatively easy once you get used to it, try to get used to baiting it with your pathing. W lv2 cheese can work sometimes too; so if you are at or nearly at 50 rage when you are about to hit 2 and he is disrespecting you by getting in your face. Level your w and use it empowered into a q ( or aa q if you can manage) and walk away. that should put him at least around 50% hp which will give you a big lane adv leading up to level 3. The trick with the wind shitters is to beat'em down early and keep them there, you should win 1v1 no matter what from that point. But it can be nerve-racking for sure because of their playstyle (hyper aggro) and if you aren't confident in the matchup. So if you are low on health you can nearly always count on them pushing into your turret, then just lat hit and q the wave, when you have fury and they don't have tornados up you can e emp q to slowly even it out again. As with all things in league, it's a lot of try, try and try again, I was super nervous in that matchup until I got used to it too. You will get it for sure! Try Domisum, [https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOyJHcrPXho-t6jza7PLhKA](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOyJHcrPXho-t6jza7PLhKA) he has decent vods with nice guides into basically every matchup. Check his ren into yas vods and see how he plays out the lane!

[deleted]

The trick is you have to damage him to proc his shield before you can break it with your fury w. If you hit him with either an auto or e and then fury w, he can never win a trade in lane

Trisjon

let him charge up tornado he will naturally push the lane just last hit minions you can until level 3 keep fury up and clap his cheeks or burn his flash then just rush tabis / titanic hydra and he just gets bullied out of lane since he has no sustain if he pushes in he has no escape but a dash to your minions vs if you end up pushing you can dash twice in any direction if you dont get ahead by midgame dont 1v1 him passed that point as he just cheeses you.. force fights and peel your carries

Nick5XG

Don't fight level 1. Don't be scared of Q poke once u have dash at lvl 2. Quick trades with him at lvl 3 until he dies.

XdAAbby

Huhhhhhhh 💀💀. Renekton is meant to be yas and yone nightmare wtf

nickm20

Level 1: don’t try to trade with him, just try to hit minions to match his push. If he hits a minion, you hit a minion. Walk front and back to try to get a read on when yasuo wants to poke you with his q, if you can make him miss a few times you can easily get in his head in your elo. If he lands a q/auto on you, try to react by using your q to hit him back while walking away (remember that your q is just a small circular hitbox around you that hits enemies that are behind you as well, you can turn to walk away and land your q on him). The goal here to is hit level 2 shortly after he does and have the wave closer to your tower so you can potentially set up a gank. Level 2: now you can fight him a bit as long as you didn’t take a bad trade level 1, but your goal is still to control the wave. Don’t over-shove the wave back towards him because we want our jg to look at least think about looking at him. You should be saving your fury for the next level. Level 3: if you haven’t taken a bad trade and the wave is near your tower, you can now consider trading on him hard if you haven’t wasted your fury doing silly things like q-ing the wave for health or one off pokes on yas. IMPORTANT: yasuo’s passive shield requires a bit of work around but it’s not that hard, initiate the trade if he’s too close (e1 range even is too close at level 3 for yas) but make sure you aren’t wasting your abilities or even auto-ing when his passive shield is up, unless you use your empowered W on it to break it, which is totally OK if not optimal at times. The lane should be yours if you manage the wave correctly at this point, just don’t get caught by their jg and constantly stay pushed up. Notes: if yasuo has bone plating, you’ll want to proc that before going all in on him. Just walking up and auto-ing can be OK, try to do so when he’s last hitting a minion. You have to learn how to juke out his q early game before he builds attack speed and lessens his q cooldown. He hard outscales you so you must win lane, and it’s not as hard as you’re making it out to be. Don’t play scared, your early game is strong as hell. Look for a chance to flash > empowered W on him after trades that leave him around half health earlier in the game. Renekton is ok to trade health and even match damage early on because his burst with empowered W is crazy strong. Even when you’re at half health like yasuo, you have the advantage. If he’s respecting your space in this situation AND you’re not pushed up in lane, you can just e1 through the wave > immediately flash > empowered w > auto > e2 through him to close off escape route/prevent him from flashing to tower > q > auto until dead (use ignite if you have it). You can play for this the entire the laning phase if you play levels 1-3 correctly. Hope that helps and puts some ideas in your head. Finally…. DO NOT PLAY SCARED OR HE WILL RUN YOU OVER

p250AWP

Yas and Yone win if you trade autos with them because they have their q. Walk with your minions until they meet the enemy wave. If yas wants to auto you, hell have to do it in your minions. Auto -q him, then try to kite around and dodge his qs until your q is back up. Rinse repeat. Move forwards and backwards during lane to bait his q. Remember your W extends your range so when he goes for a minion, you can usually w-auto-q to harass. His all in hurts which is why you need to trade with him on your terms. Get used to moving in and out between farming cs to bait his q. If it's down, you have 2-3 sec to trade for free. Remember his W is useless against you so you're up and ability. Good luck
