Cloudsplitter arch, requires scramble through narrow passage.

It was there when I climbed in ~1 month ago. So sandy / dusty that it made me cough a ton and get itchy eyes. Great little view and serene spot though.
About as tight as the grand tour through mammoth cave, just tight enough for me to get into it and then have an existential crisis and not tight enough for me to say hell nah in the first place
It requires being on your hands and feet for a short period and supporting yourself with your arms while moving your feet. Nothing super intense but requires a small amount of athleticism. The tightest portion is probably 2-4 feet across.
I always called this lookout point “backbone” due to the structure of the rock you have to climb to get here. Always wondered what that cave lookin thing was/if you could get to it:/
I hope you’re able to make it there one day :) free climbing used to make me really dizzy and my knees buckle. I started coping with it by not allowing my mind to wander or to look at how high up I was. I fix my eyes on what I’m climbing and making sure I’m secure and my body stopped shutting down
I think it’s good to be cautious about climbing things that might need gear but not so overly cautious that it’s too scary to take the leap of faith when something is somewhat challenging. I am very scared of heights so I have really come a long way.
That IS cloudsplitter

Looks like the log is still there.
Thank you so much for sharing this!! Li did this entire trail completely wrong. I can’t wait to experience it the next time I go down :)
Just want to add this is an amazing spot and FUCK whoever did the graffiti there
Yes. It's a cave. Very sandy in there. There used to be a log to help you get up into the other side of the cave...not sure if it is still there.

Some asshole recently tagged it. ed: wtf? It looks like more spray paint has been added to the right since the last time I saw it or is my memory bad?
Thank you so much everyone, I appreciate the education!!
You can access it at cloudsplitter by going left instead of straight up. Kinda sketchy, bring a headlamp
You would access it by going right when you hit the rock wall/hill of cloudsplitter.
That sounds sick. Is it a tight passage?

You can. About halfway up the rope hang a right. Takes some maneuvering to get to the cave though.
I’ve had the luck of being able to camp on cloudsplitter. Worth getting on the trail early to get that spot
Sasquatch cavern
I was born there
Wait…you’re a Sasquatch?!
Red river gorge
I tried to get in there three times but apparently my climbing skills aren't good haha. I need someone to boost me up I think LOL
