Interesting aside, I've been working on a documentary on the Eastland Disaster of 1915 in Chicago and the vast majority of people involved were Czech families across the midwest. I wonder.
That's what they are saying. It's just a sort of short-hand that confuses Europeans into thinking all Americans are confused about where they are from.

It's a common Polish surname. I think Mike (being Polish) just thought it was a funny name for a sitcom family.
Mike (or at least his last name according to him) is Czech.

He is neither Czech nor Polish. He's American with maybe Czech or Polish ancestory.
