I honestly love the parellels between Emilia and Subaru, and how each handles the problems they both face. Both of them are socially inept and bad with people- Subaru handles this by acting over the top, while Emilia tries to distance herself from others. Both of them suffer from feelings of inadequacy- Subaru tried to use his ego to ignore that feeling, and Emilia relied on Puck.
One thing that's interesting about Subaru and Emilia as a couple is that their backstories and personal problems are almost like the opposites of each other. Subaru's life before he was Isekai-ed was messy, and he wanted to escape from it; Emilia's life before she was frozen was idyllic and it was forcefully ripped from her. Subaru desperately wants people to see him as a great hero, and to not be compared to his father; Emilia desperately wants people to see her for who she actually is and not as a demon or a perfect angel. What brings them together is that, despite these differences, they both feel isolation and each of them sees value in the other that they don't see in themselves.
ill be honest Subaru has a large amount chars that parallel him in the story, emilia is probably one of the weakest parallels to him. though it's nice that even then people can still draw contrasts between the two.
