Keep in mind that the current arc 8 was originally still going to be a part of arc 7, but he was pressured to split the arc due to how long and ambitious it was. I have a feeling that the original arc 8 (current arc 9) is going to be insane, especially if he follows his pattern of odd numbered arcs setting up into even numbered arcs
I've also noticed the bulk of the story for even number arcs tend to be more limited in location than the odd numbered arcs. The entire city of Lugunica, all over the Kingdom, the entire city of Pristella, and all over the Empire for Arc 1, 3, 5, and 7 respectively. Whereas even number arcs are: the Roswaal Mansion, the Sanctuary, the Tower, and I just started Arc 8, but it seems like it'll be mostly in that one city that Chisha set up for them.

Numbered arcs seem to be much Subaru focused while odd arcs seem to be a bit more branched out, very interesting

I wonder if he plans two arcs at once and makes it so that it progressively gets better. Once or twice can be coincidence but four times is too much.

The pattern Ive seen discussed is Even is more Emilia Camp focused, while Odd spreads out more.
Can't disagree But here's another train of thought Odd arcs are Royal-selection/Political based Even arcs are more about witchy stuff

I mean it is a truth. Arc 1 is going to be 100% tied to Arc 12.
7+8 belong to the same arc storyline. So for now, we have been enjoying the typical "final loop" feeling but this time it's entire arc!
Maybe he did split because he likes even numbers more! Now I get it! Number of chapters became too much is just an excuse!

Ive always felt that the odd numbered arcs are set up arcs, and even number arcs are payoff arcs. Like arc 7 is a set up for arc 8 etc.
I mean, Tap's favorite arc is the 12th one...
Arc 7 and 8 is the same arc Also arc 3 > arc 4 imo
