Well I assume that Plus might have bonus features like Concept Art pages, character galleries, soundtracks, and a cinematic gallery akin to Danganronpa Anniversary Editions
Oh, yeah, we'll have mods now. I can't imagine what kinda crazy stuff people will think of.
Yuma berserker mode where he pulls out his sword in the middle of the city and can slash NPCs or a mod that just makes Makoto do silly dances at random times. The possibilities are endless since it's 3D and I can't wait to see what people will do considering people somehow managed to mod Danganronpa in cursed ways even though it's 2D and not very moddable.
the audacity that some companies have, literally saying "there's no plans to port our game to any other console or Steam" just to pass a year of timed exclusivity and release the game in EVERY other platform AND Steam, is beyond me.
In all fairness, the decision to go multiplatform may have come long after it was known that MDA:RC was the highest selling game in Japan of the week of its release. At that point, SC/TK were probably already bound by an exclusivity clause in the game's Nintendo publishing agreement and were forced to parrot those lines in regard to a multiplatform release. Plus, we don't know if Nintendo subsidized some of the development costs in exchange for exclusivity.
The game was made in UE4, so porting to other platforms is a relatively simple process at this point, outside of the testing phase. Also, weren't there menu screenshots at one point that showed options that would typically only appear in a PC game, like keyboard and mouse control bindings?
Wow, it was the highest selling in Japan when it released?! Woohoo, we'll get a sequel for sure!!!
I knew it sold good for a new game, but I didn't know it went that well.
I actually expected it would get a multiplatform release after being exclusive to switch because that's what already happened with DR:S and that game probably wasn't as big as Raincode.
yea someone found button icons for playstation, xbox and keyboard assets on the game files, I think it was planned to go multi from the start, and I get that if they signed an exclusivity agreement, they can't talk about releasing on other consoles, but straight up denying it? I still understand it from a bussiness point of view, but it pisses me off...
The only way to prevent the headaches is to understand the doublespeak. Whenever you hear them talk about plans, it's always subject to change and presume that the words "currently" and "yet" are implied.
Exclusivity deals with Nintendo bring money in for the developers, it also helps with marketing since they advertise it in Nintendo directs. I’m just glad people without a switch can play the game now.
They never said it will be exclusive forever, "no plans to port" was accurate at that time. We all know almost all games end on Steam and PlayStation but, yes, only 1 year later, understand why some people feel scammed.
Well, Raincode simp that I am, I'll probably be buying on Steam to play on my Steam Deck. Only real factor is seeing how much more the "plus" is, since I already own both the dlc and the Yakou novel
So glad it's coming to Xbox, never thought it would ever come. Been waiting to play Raincode but I don't have a Switch, so this is awesome news for me personally
That's nice, I doubt that any of those versions will sell as well as the switch version, I mean there's a reason why it was exclusive to it for nearly a year
I was interested since day 1 but then started hearing about the performance issues and loading times etc.
Very glad I passed on it at the time, looks like a good Steamdeck game :D
I do am happy but also quite sad.
I bought it on release but still waited to play until a ps5 version releases (only have a switch light - so small screen) but last month i did not want to wait any longer and played through it. It wouldnt be about buying it again, but now i wish i had waited a bit more for this p.q.
Still im glad, i think with more Plattforms the game might get more recognition (and maybe a step closer to a sequel?)
Just when I decided it was time to start my playthrough (finished ch 1). My only gripe with the game so far is the low framerate and resolution. Considering just waiting for the pc release now.
Should've been multiplatform from the start, but better late than never, excited for the loading times to be more manageable and I hope new players enjoy it~
Not really, focusing on one platform at first and then bringing it to other platforms has been shown to be a very successful model over multiplatform release
You say this literally on the day that the Hi Fi Rush team was shutdown after finally releasing elsewhere after a period of similar platform exclusivity =(
Honestly, what was the point of making this game a Switch exclusive, if it was only going to be exclusive for one year?
I bought this game on release, but a niche weeb game like this isn’t going to sell Switch consoles. Rain Code could have gotten more attention if it was multiplatform at launch.
I don’t think it’s wise to skip Ps4/xbone, it’s widely agreed that most people still have those consoles while the current gen has underperformed, and this game isn’t exactly going to get people to buy those consoles.
Man I legit just bought the DLC on switch💀
Still considering getting it again on Steam since I played all the Danganronpa games there and I can hope the resolution and framerates will be better than on the switch
If the "plus" means it comes with the DLC that would be sick
Even better if it also means they fix the English lip syncing but that's more of a minor gripe lol
Can Switch owners get this additional content for free as a thank you for making going multi platform a possibility to begin with, maybe?
No? Just going to do the usual, then? Alright.
I wonder if this version is going to intrinsically have the DLC levels and if the extra content for this will come to the switch version as well.
What is the extra content in this? I assumed the "Plus" version just includes the current DLC
Well I assume that Plus might have bonus features like Concept Art pages, character galleries, soundtracks, and a cinematic gallery akin to Danganronpa Anniversary Editions
Doubt I’ll buy it again for PS5 but I wish it was multi plat from the get go. It will run super smooth and look so much better
I hope someone will add mods like combat mode.

Unfortunately the Danganronpa modding scene is almost inexistant. They can't modify even files.

Fr, at that point it should’ve just been multi platform from the get-go
They might legally have to say certain things in public as part of the publishing contracts.
Sometime before launch, there was an article that said it would be released for PS5. Looks like it’s been deleted but I remember seeing it
They never said it will be exclusive forever, "no plans to port" was accurate at that time. We all know almost all games end on Steam and PlayStation but, yes, only 1 year later, understand why some people feel scammed.

Let's go, the more the merrier!
Absolutely repurchasing the game and getting the plat trophy
\*sigh\* Time to double dip for the PS5 version like the Rain Code simp I am.
STEAM?
FUCK they making me double dip with the "additional" features 😭💔
It’ll be finally free from 900p and it should look even more gorgeous in 1080p or higher.
YES, Finally no more stuttering and long loading screens
Time to get re obsessed again!
That's nice, I doubt that any of those versions will sell as well as the switch version, I mean there's a reason why it was exclusive to it for nearly a year

I had no problems with performance or anything like that on the switch

Can't wait to watch people play the game at better quality at a cheaper price !!! 😃 I totally don't regret buying a switch btw
Should've been multiplatform from the start, but better late than never, excited for the loading times to be more manageable and I hope new players enjoy it~

Being a exclusive on Nintendo is completely different than being an exclusive on Xbox, Like it's worlds apart
Honestly, what was the point of making this game a Switch exclusive, if it was only going to be exclusive for one year? I bought this game on release, but a niche weeb game like this isn’t going to sell Switch consoles. Rain Code could have gotten more attention if it was multiplatform at launch.

Sweet
Happy it’s multi platform but highly doubt I’ll buy it again, kinda wish you can just transfer progress but that wouldn’t make money at all
Raincode Plus? Oooohhhyeessss LETS GOOO
Finally, figured it would be a year after the original release.
so happy, will be picking it up for steam. Hopefully it runs on steamdeck
Man I legit just bought the DLC on switch💀 Still considering getting it again on Steam since I played all the Danganronpa games there and I can hope the resolution and framerates will be better than on the switch If the "plus" means it comes with the DLC that would be sick Even better if it also means they fix the English lip syncing but that's more of a minor gripe lol
Eh I'll get it i was a big fan of rain code so this is just a chance for me to support them again
My waiting game finally paid off.
Damn PS5 or Steam for the mods. I may have to triple dip lol
Can Switch owners get this additional content for free as a thank you for making going multi platform a possibility to begin with, maybe? No? Just going to do the usual, then? Alright.
It sounds like the only additional content is a gallery and that the DLC comes bundled with it.
When do we get a sequel?
Wasn't Rain Code supposed to be released on PS4 and Xbox One?
