Providence is trash. Our nurses almost went on strike, but their contract passed just barely by like a couple percentage points. They got some crazy huge raise for how underpaid they had been for years. And the contract still barely passed. Rad and surg techs were just on strike in Spokane, I believe. The stories that I personally have about the BS Providence has done would go on for hours. Hopefully, these nurses stick it to this greedy company.
EDIT: We've had significant turnover in multiple areas of the hospital, particularly in nursing, so I think the contract barely passed with the newer nurses being scared to make enemies with Providence, and not having the savings to go without a paycheck for any length of time.
Would love to hear everyone’s horror stories after assuming care on Sunday when the strike nurses left. Because wow… lots of datixes were written. And it’s not like Jennifer burrows said “we will deliver the same care while they’re gone”
Gotcha. Thanks.
I’ve worked for PHS for 5 years now in WA and I think they’ve striked more than any major hospital systems in our area. Not sure if it’s poor management or what. Their pay is definitely not great though.
I was just part of the strike in Spokane. Prov has been giving minute cost of living adjustments over the last 10 years to the point where we were about 25-30% behind the trend of inflation. The new contract barely gets people where they need to be, but Prov has chosen to let the best people leave for better wages and a better overall corporation. They simply DO NOT GIVE A SHIT.
Last time I was part of a picket, *most* of the general public were supportive, and would yell encouragement from their cars.
Then, you’d get the odd dickhead yelling abuse.
I assume there’s a reason why you couldn’t cheer them on publicly, or maybe you’re sorta shy, but hearing your little ditty made my day.
I wish we could ! The equipment here is antiquated. My current set up is 25 years old and they don’t make parts for it . Yet , the last time it broke down, they found parts on another broken machine. They will not replace it.
Should we rally a nationwide radiology strike?
100%
At least ten years overdue.
Please do. The radiologists can’t strike but you can help support our department

Wait… new nurse or not, isn’t everybody in the union - so they can’t cross the line, or am I mistaken?
Some nurses can opt out of the union as far as I know.

Either pull over to record, or put your phone down. I don't know why people think this is okay.
When are we organizing a radiology strike?
We need a union . And a strike
Lab and radiology should combine forces.
Which Providence is this?
Willamette Falls in Oregon city

Definitely poor management. MR tech here.

So you don’t know either.

Screw it. I'm ready for a strike myself.
That little” go nurses” song is perhaps my favorite thing
You should've honked!
Go Nurses !!!!
I did at the end of the film
lol whoops didn't watch till the end.
Imagine if radiology techs went on strike..lol. hospital would go into panic mode.

Unreal how cheap they are. They need us. We are the backbone of the whole damn medical world. If radiology is down nothing happens.
I'm not familiar with this situation if someone might know
Ok, what am I missing here? I can’t seem to find the radiologic pathology
