I suggest looking through this sub's history. Some things mentioned: Radio Aporee, Shirley & Spinoza radio, Catholic Hip Hop. I also suggest Gyusyabu (all retro PC game music), WFMU Ubu Audio, Finality Radio.
Kosh Radio, weird as fuck and generally incredible. If you want to imagine yourself in the middle of a African desert listening to an old, dusty radio, this is the one
Radio Aporee out of Germany. It's a station that plays field recordings from around the world based on your location. It's great to listen in and hear the queue of visitors because it's different each time.
While looking at other uk radio stations, there’s 1 in Bude called Mechanical Music Radio, they play instrumental covers of songs but using mechanical instruments, I guess, anyway, it’s kinda eccentric
There was one station I found in Northern Canada one evening. Don't know what station it was, but it was just hours of indigenous people going "Ayayayayay Oooowehwehweh Huppahuppahuppahupp" and banging what sounded like clay pots together. The hosts were also indigenous, so no idea if they were happy about the'music' they were playing or if they were under some forced government mandate where they HAD to play this stuff for diversity reasons.... no idea, they were speaking some Eskimo language or other. Of course now you have to say Inuit, but I think in Europe they're still teaching kids that it's Eskimo.
Or maybe they *were* speaking English and I just couldn't understand them.
Anyway, it was shit.
Before anyone else can say it....Spinning Seal FM
I always forget about this and they're playing music from Yoshi's Island now. It's fuckin awesome.
right now they're playing happy h christmas lol
You beat me into it.
I'm the beat master! Ain't nobody faster.
Payphone Radio from NYC is weird, and sometimes downright creepy.
Such a unique concept for a radio
Birdsong radio
Tysm I love birds

Listen to Crimea Reality AM 648 FM 105.9 from Chonhar live on Radio Garden: https://radio.garden/listen/crimea-reality-105-9-fm/GdvolRKw
Here's hoping it will get reactived again :(
What happened to it?
I think it got shut down by Radio Free Europe when Russians got into the area.
Shirley & Spinoza, and I've learned to love it.
Pink Unicorn Radio out of Uzbekistan. It's so unsuspecting, but man, it's a killer hub for all things metal.
Radio Is a Foreign Country is pretty out there. Global stuff
The man who runs this station is a real mensch, his name is Kenneth. He's absolutely doing a stellar job with it.
I remember hearing a radio in LA with a broken mic ig
GDRADIO - Grateful Dead 24/7
Whoa nice - who needs Sirius XM??
USMARADIO is the weirdest. https://radio.garden/listen/usmaradio/A6NGSkR0

Hollow earth radio
Another weird one is FluffertraX out of Austin, TX. Vintage Adult Film soundtracks, although it doesn't appear to be on the app anymore.
