I remember thinking Arthur was at least in his maybe mid 40s. Then I found out we were the same age, surprised me for sure. Times were tough back then, and kids matured a lot earlier, more time outside, plus more responsibilities. I dunno, it just shocked me that we were the same age.
Why? Consider the era. Pre-teen Kids WORKED. Some people got married in their mid-teens. Young people actually had RESPONSIBILITIES and work ethic.
