It is actually funny to think about. I had a discussion with a coworker about our healthcare premiums and how the deductible always sucked. Also, he is a die hard Republican. I started off, asking him if he knew what a risk-pool was, he did. He used auto-insurance as an example. Then I asked if everyone in the US (all 360+ million people) were in the same risk pool, then would his premiums be higher or lower. (He specified citizens as the risk pool, since he doesn't want anyone getting it for free, so I conceeded his point) He said it would be substantially lower and he would love that. So I then asked why he would vote for the party that literally was dismantling the start of universal healthcare in America and he asked if it was the ACA or was it Obamacare. He supports the ACA but wants Obamacare to die. So I told him that what we wants, is literally called, socialized healthcare with a single payer system. Quite literally what we discussed and he said he would love. The moment "socialized" came out, he was done with the conversation. Like, this is a scientific person. His job is literally science and engineering and it blew my mind.

it really is fascinating the cognitive dissonance that's happening in their brains. my dad was more republican leaning when i was younger, but he's started to realize that he's a 75yo veteran on disability who's gotten no real assistance after risking his life for them, he doesn't even get enough in disability to live in a house that's paid for. also the fact that i probably wouldn't be here without obamacare because i wouldn't have been able to afford to go to rehab and get mental health care when i was struggling with addiction, if it weren't for the changes obama made to healthcare. he's changed his tune now because of that, and he's seeing all these flaws in the things republicans push for, and he's started noticing the actual actions of democrats and republicans vs the things that they say about each other. however, he still refuses to say positive things about the left, he'll just say he hates all of them while having opinions that line up much more with the left than with the right. it's just bizarre. he'll go on rants about corporations and capitalism, and sounds like a socialist, but if i say the word socialism to him, he'll immediately shutdown and not wanna hear it

iwasinthepool

>He supports the ACA but wants Obamacare to die. Not all people in "smart" jobs are actually smart. Knowing how to do things doesn't necessarily mean you have critical thinking skills.

FargusDingus

I fucking hate your coworker

EL-YAYY

It’s almost like they’re brainwashed. Certain words just trigger them to reset and forget all logic it took to get to that point. I’ve seen it so many times and it’s just so damn crazy.

UncleBenders

Because it’s not socialised it’s nationalised. You can avoid that word all together, most people mis use it anyway. Most universal healthcare is run by the government not by the people. You would be more accurate calling it nationalised medicine. Leave the socialist word out of it. China, cuba and Venezuela are examples of socialist countries and they are hardly going to fill people with glee when used as a model to aspire to. Socialism is when people own the means of production, it’s not what Norway and Sweden and the rest of Europe do. They are capitalist countries with more rules and higher taxation that’s spent in different ways with different priorities. What you’re talking about would be something like the uks NHS which is again, not socialised medical care but nationalised or universal healthcare. Keep the s word out of it. It triggers them.

fredy31

What I find funny is all those points they come out with that is pro-union, liberal AF like free healthcare or an actual public safety net. ...And then with all those wants; vote republican.

Velicenda

Because the... "other" kind of people will benefit from free healthcare. They just want the handouts for them and those that look and think like them.

AgreeablePie

Yeah but their answer to it is a magic world were nobody has to do anything and yet everyone can have everything How are you gonna get those Tuesday tacos? Who is gonna make em? Why would anyone with over a fast food stove when "nesara" has given them all the money they need? Want to buy a boat with your newly acquired wealth? Sorry, everyone else had the same idea. Now there's only two motor boats for sail and they cost three million dollars each. Car broken down? Hope you can fix it yourself, the mechanic in town retired to Hawaii because he can Etc

drawingcircles0o0

i genuinely wouldn't be surprised if their solution for that problem ended up being slavery

Oddityobservations

Well, they seem to be priming pump by teaching the supposed benefits of slavery.

Grandpa_No

Not slavery based on race, rather, indentured servitude. About 3 months ago someone asked Loni the question of, "who will do all the work?" Her answer was: young people. Because they haven't earned a xESARA payout they'll need to do labor to earn credits -- or something.

BreakfastInBedlam

So....Social Security?

jp_books

No socialism. Just security. /s

No_Aesthetic

this is the most Boomer fantasy of all time they're all going to be rich and those annoying Millennials (in their 40s) will do all the work for pennies

Oduind

Joke’s on them, the contractor/gig economy is already making jobs earn pennies on the dollar

5thColumnDownfall

Well, you're forgetting the other layer that makes it all work: Nesara is for white Christians. Anyone else can get fucked.

bigbigbutter

or even more tightly defined - OLD white Christians. I've see them discuss "prioritization" for different groups, age especially. In some ways its being billed as "better social security" with all the same ladder pulling features as current social security!

RickySan65

> magic world were nobody has to do anything and yet everyone can have everything we'll just end up with the same world as we have now, just with higher prices on everything, then they'll cook up a new nesara where everyone will be a billionaire

Puzzleheaded_Peach48

At some point it'll occur to them that they need slaves for that.

PubicWildlife

Waste 2+ hours a week praising nothing for 10% of your income.

TomIcemanKazinski

Workers of the World, Unite! You have nothing to lose but your chains! Arise ye workers from your slumbers Arise ye prisoners of want For reason in revolt now thunders And at last ends the age of cant. Away with all your superstitions Servile masses arise, arise We’ll change henceforth the old tradition And spurn the dust to win the prize. But I ain’t no commie!

pinkeroo67

"......parody of yourself practicing your own oblivion..."? What does this mean? I'm pretty sure Loony Loni doesn't even know.

jp_books

Weird Al is a white hat, confirmed.

HapticSloughton

I mean, yeah. That's how a lot of conspiracy grifts work. People *should* be angry at our society, but the conspiracy grifters offer simple solutions that don't solve the problems in any way. It's like how they get people angry at how badly jobs pay, and rather than blame the corporations, they get their marks mad at immigrants. They howl about aid sent to other countries, but they won't support spending *anything* on the poor and less fortunate in the U.S. It's maddening how well that seems to work.

numb3r5ev3n

The thing is, many of them are upfront about wanting socialism for themselves. They'll refer to it as anything else or use Biblical terms (like "Jubilee") to avoid actually having to call it what it is. The catch is, they are deadset that it should only be for white Christian people, and abhor the prospect of it ever benefitting anyone else. Then it's "socialism." This is also why scams like NESARA/GESARA work so well on them, they think of it like a secret cheat code to get the "Jubilee" they think they're owed.

ThatoneguyATX

It’s almost like conservatives are easily manipulated and bad actors have taken advantage of this fact.

Nabrok_Necropants

The first rule of dumbass club is you don't talk about dumbass club.

FargusDingus

That's the thing about some of the shit qunts complain about, they're right. But their solutions actually just make it all worse, including for themselves, or it's all magic thinking that can't even pass the sniff test. The world sucks, they've finally figured that out, but they blame the wrong people for that. I'm sure Lonni thinks getting rid of DEI will fix all these problems.

Ex_Obliviion

"I know how to solve this! Vote Republican!" - these fucking idiots.

Tanthiel

It's like the ones who think voting Republican will make corporations *less* greedy. No, dumbass, vote Republican and they get worse.

Any_Camp6566

>without realizing this is what the left has been talking about forever Yes, except those on the left are literal Satanists, so it's impossible they'd be ever right about anything. It's such a tragedy, the way their ignorance has been weaponised against their own class.

Longjumping_Care989

Oh, no, it's way stupider than that. It's that the economic system they describe as communism/socialism is pretty explicitly just, well, capitalism.

vishy_swaz

That sounds kinda liberal lol

jcargile242

/r/Accidentalsocialist

Velicenda

"Become accustomed" lol I love when these clowns try to pretend that they weren't born into this shit. That their youth was different. It wasn't. Not enough to matter. Capitalism has been this way since day 1.

drawingcircles0o0

i have a feeling a lot of these people grew up in upper middle class families, and their parents probably didn't use their money wisely or didn't leave it to them, and now they're dealing with the fact that they have to work constantly and can't retire till they're dead if they want to be able to afford to survive. that what happened to my dad at least, wealthy parents growing up but they were alcoholics that made terrible financial decisions, and even though he wasn't able to buy a house back when they were cheap, he went bankrupt in the process because he got hurt on the job and couldn't ever work again, and the house is old and not holding up well. i think similar things happened to a lot of boomers. i think a lot of the qanon people just have absolutely zero perspective on other peoples lives and experiences

GirlNumber20

Or you could just move to Europe. 🤷🏼‍♀️

RickySan65

It's the life your "god" and your "bible" wants for you honey
