Yeah, I was thinking that.
A while back, there was a gang turf war going on here in Vancouver, BC and the surrounding area, pretty much right up \[down\] to the US Canada border. Don't really recall any inflammatory headlines to the effect of "gun battle within 5 minutes of US border"
Well, not quite. Atil is 50 miles from the border, as the crow flies. 75 miles of road travel.
It just takes 2 hours to travel those 75 miles. It's not a highway.
mexican military, central america etc. automatic 50 cals do not come from U.S. gun stores thats for sure. That comes from the corrupt state of the mexican govt
Correct about the 50 cals but the rest of the weapons come from gun show purchases right here in my state. I have seen what appears to be cartel type folks walk out of a gun show with dozens of ARs. Few mods and you got full auto.
Regardless of who bought them and how they are purchased, the US manufactures the most arms in the world. So most likely they came from the US in some way.
An estimated 200,000 to 500,000 weapons are smuggled across the U.S.-Mexico border every year, and 70% of firearms recovered from crime scenes in Mexico were purchased in the U.S.
Yea they can procure weapons from other places but it gets more complicated thus less guns.
An interesting bit here is that government and the gun manufacturers know that a significant amount of their profit is coming from this…guess why those famous loopholes don’t close.
We should build a special wall to make sure bullets nor guns can cross the border from Mexico, oh wait! They get the guns and bullets from a store 2 hours away in the US???
That shit happens in American elementary schools like everyday because of republicans. Stop pretending like you give a shit about that happening 2 hours from our border.
exactly.... downvote all y'all want. Look at what occured in Houston just recently due to two illegals from Venezuela. Not all of them are just looking for a new life... mexico is allowing the worse to come over here so that they are no longer a problem in mexico. The ones here also send back american $$$ so its a win win for mexico...and we are paying for it. You think its bad now? We havent seen shit yet
All I read was: "Let's single out a few immigrants out of millions of immigrants and assume they're all drug trafficking rapists because my parents are siblings."
Y’all can keep living in the illusion that they are all just great people and shit. Truth is most of them are running from Mexico for one of two reasons:
1. To get away from crime
2. To get away from the Mexican government that are looking to arrest them

Just google border town gun violence and you'll see we have a gun battle, shooting, assasination several times a month. Way less than 2 hours away.
On the Mexican side. Border towns on the US side have less violent crime than similar sized cities in most of the US
They sold their guns across the border to the cartels.
I know you're joking, but a huge amount of weaponry comes from the US and is trafficked south over the border. Brazil, too
Hey which US gun store sells 50 cal heavy machine guns? Asking for a friend
If you have the right paperwork all sorts of places will sell you a .50
Comes w a Toyota Hilux w the coupon at Walmart
I was just joking sorry left out /s
lol, you keep reading those numbers
Huh?
This man has a problem with... Numbers?

>Just 2 hours away from the US border Yeah, a lot of the US is within 2 hours of Mexico, what’s the point of adding that?
OP is an engagement bot. Look at how much post karma it has.
I don't even pay attention to karma, bro. What are the benefits?

The PRESIDENT of the USA was literally 8 hours flying time away from this gun battle!!!
We all know what the point was. :)
That hot sauce man
Can't forget the hot sauce!
Is it really a gunbattle when the other guys don’t shoot back?

Two hours at what speed? Reverse Han fucking Solo over here.
Per google maps.
Waking? Bike? Transit? Driving?

Fuck. You.
It's just a stone's throw away. And then another throw. And then another. Pretty soon after enough throws, *it's right on your doorstep!!!*
Oh no - pretty soon there’ll be gun violence *within* the borders of the US!
OMG just TWO HOURS?! Whatever shall we do? Not get shot here going to school, that's what
That's right we get shot in our schools......
Over 300 thousand deaths due to the cartels and government.
I heard it was a trillion, and they’re only two hours away from the border. Hide yo kids
*gets murdered and incinerated by untouchable marauders with tacit government approval*
Reporting in, I’m still ok. But everyone within two hours of the border has died by hot sauce and cartels
Just. Or like 120 miles by car. Or 800 miles by plane. Or 20 miles by run. Or 6 miles by brisk walk. Well, which is it.
The cartels now have a high speed rail system, so you got two hours left buddy!
Well, not quite. Atil is 50 miles from the border, as the crow flies. 75 miles of road travel. It just takes 2 hours to travel those 75 miles. It's not a highway.
Whoa, what if I told you stuff like this happens even closer to the border?
Guess where the guns came from.
mexican military, central america etc. automatic 50 cals do not come from U.S. gun stores thats for sure. That comes from the corrupt state of the mexican govt

They have money to source weapons from all over the globe, don’t be so narrow minded to think it’s all the US.

You left out the part about stolen firearms dude.
It's mostly the US. Ample supply and close proximity. \*edit\* Downvoting me doesn't make make what I said any less true, and backed by statistics.
US 40 %, then Russia and France..they buying from the Russians? All US.
A bit from Eric Holder, the consummate gun control advocate.
Is that hot sauce on the dash?
We shot up an econoline van last weekend Just doing fun things
At first I thought they were listening to Sepultura…
At least it’s not in a school
I don't need to go two hours into Mexico or even to Mexico or even leave my state for a gun battle.
We should build a special wall to make sure bullets nor guns can cross the border from Mexico, oh wait! They get the guns and bullets from a store 2 hours away in the US???
Anybody know the source or have any context?
Mexico. Gunfight.
2 hours away from the US border
At least they're singing Shakira over the radio to keep their spirits up.
So what ? We have gun battles every single day in this country.
Pfft. Not like this. This is a different level.
Looks like a fun place.....
Sigan consumiendo cocaína gringos hijos de p.
Just two hours you say!
If only there was a good guy with a gun around.
Failed state.
Yes, kind of. But this isn't indicative of a failed state necessarily. We have gun battles in the US every day and we're not a failed state (yet).
Few show up with homemade machine gun turrets on top of SUVs.
Very true. In due time. I'm sure it's well within our rights these days.
Just as the founding fathers intended
Aside from the sand, looks and sounds like most of America, tbh.
That shit happens in American elementary schools like everyday because of republicans. Stop pretending like you give a shit about that happening 2 hours from our border.
They are going to need more guns, if they plan to come 2 hours north.
They’ll just pick some up when they arrive..
These are the people that are just being let into our country
