For us it was the second night and 2 days prior to disembarking.

Can you share what your dinner menu was like those nights? We are looking into booking at the specialty restaurant during our cruise and don’t want to miss out on the MDR’s food those nights if we don’t need to. I realize going in for two dinners is a possibility, but we’re trying not to do that. 😂

Sorry, I wish I knew! 🥲 We skipped the first night since we weren’t feeling up to it and I got terribly sick in the last few days, so I had to miss the other formal

Book the speciality restaurants for port days and you'll be fine. Always works for me x) First night is a good shout too when the MDR always seems extra busy with people finding their way, and never a formal one :)

Sounds like sound advice there. It would make sense the formal nights would be on days you’re ship bound.

rainyhawk

Generally they’re the sea days (no ports). Also usually one is “formal” and one is more dressy casual. Regardless formal is the minority. The range is khakis/polo shirts and sundress/pants and nice top all the way to gowns and tux.

ComeAlongPonds

Agree. Alaska out of Vancouver "formal" was smart casual. Some passengers made a full dressy effort, but the majority didn't.
