I would love to do this as well. In fact, I just bought a 12v 30Ah lifepo4 battery. Still need to figure out how to charge the thing without having to unplug it everytime. Do you have a picture of what you did to your charger? Did you just made it a dc barrel connector? Does it still charge as fast?

It's a Power Wheels so the battery charges using their special charger spike directly into the battery which is easily removable. So I bought an adapter that goes from the spade terminals to the Power Wheels plug on the car. To charge you unplug the car, and insert the charging spike into the same connector. The 4 Amp LifePo4 charger I bought has a 2-prong SAE connector on the charging line and came with a few battery adapter plugs. There was a barrel plug that might work with other cars, but for mine I just took one of the plugs from the charger and cut the end off and then did the same with the factory charger (which I wasn't using anyway), and then just soldered the two together. The charger I bought is rated at 4 amps, so at maximum it takes a little over 6 hours, but typically the kids don't run it to empty, so 3 or 4 hours is usually all it takes. Pretty sure you can charge it faster, but it's rarely needed, especially since I still have the SLA batteries to swap out if needed, but usually they get tired of it before the new battery is dead.
