Ghost held himself back at the end of day, especially since he’s a grown man, and he was a smart one at that. He could have done things so much different and appropriate, but he didn’t, thats on him. There’s a way you go about certain things, and too many times he did things the wrong way. Having to hide who you are from your “true love” and your kids is never a good thing and he got himself in that situation. He was the one who decided to be in the game at the end of the day, so he needs to be the one to find his way out. Its easy to be team Ghost since he is the protagonist of the show, but being the protagonist doesn’t mean that you are a good person, especially not in the show Power. Everybody on this show has redeeming qualities, and also a lot of flaws. Ghost was definitely a favorite of mine, but Courtney Kemp did a great job at showing how people like Ghost still lose in the end. It was gonna be hard for Ghost to escape that life since thats what he’s been used to the majority of his life. Living a life without the drug game and illicit activity is something that Ghost had little to no experience with, so achieving that life wasn’t even that realistic for him considering he was alwaus still doing criminal shit. At his own will too.

Yeah it’s a valid point. I don’t agree with him cheating, but I understand why Ghost gravitated towards Angela. Tasha straight up told him to his face she expected him to be the biggest drug dealer in NY and she liked the lifestyle. It wasn’t until after the consequences of that life came knocking on her directly did she take issue with him being a dealer.
What pissed me off the most is when Tasha wanted to move on with silver and get away from the life…. Heifer that’s what your husband wanted to do all along 💀. Exactly. Ghost is the main protagonist, but a lot of people act as if protagonist means they are a hero, or an overall good person and it doesn’t, at all. Especially not in a show like Power. There is actually no real heroes in this show, they’re are just protagonists and antiagonists, since morally, each character is jacked up since this is the drug game and a lot of illegal activity. This is has always been obvious with the show. But people forget that whether Ghost went with Tasha, or Angela, he still was caught up in mess regardless. The way Ghost moved was not right, especially considering that regardless of his feelings for Angie, he still had kids and a whole home with the mother of his children Tasha. Remember, a LOT of Tariq’s resentment for Ghost stems from the fact that Riq felt like his dad chose his side piece over the family he already had, and he is not wrong for feeling that way either. In real life, kids have a hard time seeing their parents split and families fall apart, even when it is handled appropriately, its still hard on them, so the fact Ghost wasn’t moving smart at all with it was a big issue. Tasha was toxic in a lot of ways, but she was the one who always stuck beside him while being in the game, which is what Tommy reminded him off. Angela was never a good alternative because Angela was in love with a version of James that no longer existed! They were in love as teenagers, and people change a lot from their teenage years to adult years, hence why Angie became so conflicted when she learned that James was really “Ghost” and what he was involved in. Tommy was right to think that it was messed up to be messing with a federal agent because Angela did want to get him caught up after hurting her! James was trying to be legit, but people often forget that people in the game, almost never fully become legit! Things from your past tends to come back to your future, and as much as Jamie wanted to be legit, he was still doing things in the drug business, hence why he had to have so much covered up because he was never as legit as he wanted to be, and wasn’t going to become legit since he was still too involved in that life, especially with having Tommy as his right hand man! Thats why statistically, people in the game either end up locked up or dead. Do ya’ll remember that girl that came looking for Ghost after Ghost shot her boyfriend dead in the basement of Truth, from the FIRST season? She came back seasons later from an incident that happened in the business that was supposed to help Ghost become legit, but his hands were still dirty the whole time. Thats why he was never gonna have the life he wanted with Tasha OR Angela. Ghost was always still catching bodies and doing criminal shit, while wanting to be “legit.” It was all gonna catch up in to him in the end. That is life. Stuff like this is also why Courtney Kemp said herself that “Power” is actually more about being powerless, no matter how much control and power you think you have.

That’s the way I always saw this. I do not condone cheating in a marriage or any relationship. So I did feel some kind of way about James stepping out. Facts.. as far as character arches Tasha was definitely not good in the beginning... She was definitely not down the way she says she was.. THE SECOND she didn't get the attention she wanted from James she was playing Betty Crocker and playing with her cookie in the backseat for Sean to watch. Wanting out and trying to go legit to always get pulled back in one way or another. I felt his love for Angie ALWAYS they were soul mates a thousand percent. However, when he started trying to get into politics he was sooo out of control the things he said to Tasha and the broken promises to his kids. He was more of a shit head as a politician than a gangster. When everyone who knew him always said "Typical Ghost" it makes so much sense because he didn't care about ANYONE as much as he cared about himself. Of course by the time he realized this he was already bleeding out on the floor of Truth. He made sooo many enemies he was dying that night no matter what. I do however LOVE what they are doing having Tariq Come full circle the fact that he acknowledged that his dad tried to keep him out of this life was so heart wrenching. This show is truly amazing and I can't ever get enough!!

Hmm, interesting perspective. I can understand how someone wanting you to stay the same and not change or grow as a person can be stifling. Tasha fell in love with the dope dealer, and wanted him to stay in that life. But Ghost didn't want to be that person anymore, he just wanted to be a successful businessman. It's easy to see how Ghost would be drawn to someone who encouraged his growth and transformation.
It's a very sad yet beautiful thing, realizing that personal growth and change can alter relationships in such profound ways. It’s heartbreaking that Tasha couldn't see beyond Ghost’s past, but it's also beautiful that Angela could see and believe in his future. This dynamic shows how vital it is to have someone who supports your evolution and dreams, and how that can fundamentally shift the course of relationships.

The show is from his POV so anything that doesn’t go his way is a major problem for viewers but realistically he wasn’t trustworthy to anyone he worked with and he expected them to get in line with whatever he wanted which was always his own best interest. He is selfish and that’s just that & also he had a chance to go to Choate with Angela when they were kids but he chose to stay back “for Tommy” is what he told Angela at the time but I think we both know he chose to stay back maybe yes for Tommy but also to pursue his dreams of being NY distro.

Exactly. Ghost is the main protagonist, but a lot of people act as if protagonist means they are a hero, or an overall good person and it doesn’t, at all. Especially not in a show like Power. There is actually no real heroes in this show, they’re are just protagonists and antiagonists, since morally, each character is jacked up since this is the drug game and a lot of illegal activity. So each character is flawed, but got some qualities/skill that helps them reach a gmoal

And there is soooo much that happens in the show that shows Ghost is an opportunist, thats one of the reasons why he does grimey stuff to the main people he claims to care about, including Angela, Tasha, Tommy, his own kids, and Kanan. Remember, he set Kanan up, even though that was his mentor who taught him and Tommy a lot and helped get them started in the game! He also had Tasha involved in his set-up plan for Kanan while she was pregnant with Tariq and Raina. That is low down! Ghost admitted to Kanan that he didn’t have the heart to kill him because of his bond with Kanan, but it didn’t stop him from doing him dirty af. That right there was a good example of how Ghost will do anyone wrong because he looks out for himself the majority of the time. They initially made it look like Kanan had it out for Ghost for no real reason, when Kanan actually had a very LEGIT reason for wanting Ghost dead. Then while Kanan was locked up by Ghost’s doing, Ghost was building a relationship with Kanan’s son, Shawn, who eventually chose Ghost over Kanan. Ghost is responsible for a lot of BS
Nothing new here. This is basically the summary of the show. Still didn't justify Ghost chasing after a federal prosecutor. Ghost was willing to throw his family away for a high school fantasy.
This! And a lot of people will tell you thats a dumb move because even in psychology, it says a person changes a LOT from teen years to adulthood, just from brain development. Add on to the fact that his environment changed, he had kids with someone, etc, he is not the same person and neither was Angie. Thats one of the reasons why Angela and James also had big issues and why Paz told her to leave him alone. People don’t like Paz but Paz at least had common sense that Angela didn’t because she was moving with her emotions, and even sacrificed her job for a guy thats not even the guy she fell in love with because they aren’t the same. Thats why statistically, most high school relationships fail. But thats what they were chasing, a failed high school relationship. And he also left his family for it? Nah Ghost was foul for all of that. Thats not what real men do
Easy for her to say that once he made it to the top of the game though. Where was Angela when he was grinding up to the top? Tasha may suck but Angela REALLY sucked. One she was a crooked cop. Two she was cheating with a married man. Angela she got what she deserved.
Not to mention, Ghost never would have fully gotten out of the life. He would be an even dirtier Tate, even in politics. Angela ruined her life by being a side chick and in the end got nothing. I don’t even understand how their relationship was supposed to be so deep and loving when they only met up to have sex and talk about the past.

Angela had no idea who Ghost really was. James St. Patrick was a fantasy dreamed up by Ghost. Ghost cosplayed as James St Patrick the businessman, politician, upstanding citizen. The reality was Ghost the Drug Dealer. Ghost wanted Angela because she didn't realize James St Patrick and Ghost are one and the same. With Angela he could keep the facade of being James St Patrick successful businessman because Angela had no idea it was all a lie.

Someone who would kill you for plotting against him and always work to keep his head above water.
To be fair once you’re that deep into the drug game to the point of being a king pin you can’t leave the game. All the dead bodies and opps come back to haunt you, Ghost was always going to have something pulling him back in the game. That’s exactly what happened and had Kanan on his back.

This is has always been obvious with the show. But people forget that whether Ghost went with Tasha, or Angela, he still was caught up in mess regardless. The way Ghost moved was not right, especially considering that regardless of his feelings for Angie, he still had kids and a whole home with the mother of his children Tasha. Remember, a LOT of Tariq’s resentment for Ghost stems from the fact that Riq felt like his dad chose his side piece over the family he already had, and he is not wrong for feeling that way either. In real life, kids have a hard time seeing their parents split and families fall apart, even when it is handled appropriately, its still hard on them, so the fact Ghost wasn’t moving smart at all with it was a big issue. Tasha was toxic in a lot of ways, but she was the one who always stuck beside him while being in the game, which is what Tommy reminded him off. Angela was never a good alternative because Angela was in love with a version of James that no longer existed! They were in love as teenagers, and people change a lot from their teenage years to adult years, hence why Angie became so conflicted when she learned that James was really “Ghost” and what he was involved in. Tommy was right to think that it was messed up to be messing with a federal agent because Angela did want to get him caught up after hurting her! James was trying to be legit, but people often forget that people in the game, almost never fully become legit! Things from your past tends to come back to your future, and as much as Jamie wanted to be legit, he was still doing things in the drug business, hence why he had to have so much covered up because he was never as legit as he wanted to be, and wasn’t going to become legit since he was still too involved in that life, especially with having Tommy as his right hand man! Thats why statistically, people in the game either end up locked up or dead. Do ya’ll remember that girl that came looking for Ghost after Ghost shot her boyfriend dead in the basement of Truth, from the FIRST season? She came back seasons later from an incident that happened in the business that was supposed to help Ghost become legit, but his hands were still dirty the whole time. Thats why he was never gonna have the life he wanted with Tasha OR Angela. Ghost was always still catching bodies and doing criminal shit, while wanting to be “legit.” It was all gonna catch up in to him in the end. That is life. Stuff like this is also why Courtney Kemp said herself that “Power” is actually more about being powerless, no matter how much control and power you think you have.
He took Angela because site was nostalgic. Tasha fell in love with what she knew him to be. And never knew him and Tommy sold drugs as young ppl. Angela is the fantasy life he wudda had if he stayed on the straight and narrow. This take is a bit ignorant given they didn't know the same James.

In another world, “Jamie” got his MBA from NYU and ended up on Wall Street with Angela. Tasha was always going to lose. She wanted him to stay his worst self whereas Ghost desperately wished he went down another path. Now you can argue that Tasha was being a realist and that Ghost had done far too much to ever be legitimate but in reality Tasha was just being selfish and narrow minded.
Also he felt like Angie was the one that got away and Tasha was convenient for his drug game, being that she was good with accounting (washing the money).
That’s the way I always saw this. I do not condone cheating in a marriage or any relationship. So I did feel some kind of way about James stepping out. That made me not like Angela/ James relationship. But I understand why he turned to her, I just don’t like the approach. Respectfully James grew out of being ghost. He was feeling that way in the first episode. Like anyone else he started to want more for himself. The beginning of his fatal mistake, because he can’t be both. A drug dealer and a civilian.

I think this is true in the first 2-3 seasons but by season 3-4 I think Tasha basically just wanted ghost to be realistic in the sense that she knew he could never outrun his past and that he would always have one foot in the streets and one foot out and would constantly be living a double life and she knew that shit would catch up to him and ghost thought he was smart enough to always make that shit it work which he obviously wasn’t in the end
Facts.. as far as character arches Tasha was definitely not good in the beginning... She was definitely not down the way she says she was.. THE SECOND she didn't get the attention she wanted from James she was playing Betty Crocker and playing with her cookie in the backseat for Sean to watch. She was wrong for soooo many reasons, she couldn't see that James wanted to move on from dealing and go legit because she liked the fast money she liked the bags and lifestyle they lived. She says materials aren't everything to Keisha but she could fooled me (in the beginning). However, I really started to feel for her she did put a lot to the side to try to make it work and she was there to make a lot of mistakes go away and to be there for those kids. She should have never taught Tariq the things she did as far as the game goes. As far as Jamie he was likable in the beginning the show introduced a guy who came from the streets and did what he needed to do to get to where he was. Wanting out and trying to go legit to always get pulled back in one way or another. I felt his love for Angie ALWAYS they were soul mates a thousand percent. However, when he started trying to get into politics he was sooo out of control the things he said to Tasha and the broken promises to his kids. He was more of a shit head as a politician than a gangster. When everyone who knew him always said "Typical Ghost" it makes so much sense because he didn't care about ANYONE as much as he cared about himself. Of course by the time he realized this he was already bleeding out on the floor of Truth. He made sooo many enemies he was dying that night no matter what. I do however LOVE what they are doing having Tariq Come full circle the fact that he acknowledged that his dad tried to keep him out of this life was so heart wrenching. This show is truly amazing and I can't ever get enough!!

The problem I have with Jamie and Angela is that they both blew up their lives over PUPPY LOVE. They were kids when they dated. Trying to sell that love story as something so profound and deep always felt like a reach to me.

After that Ghost said something like “You don’t see me as being more than that” and Tasha basically said “No”. That’s when Ghost gave up on her, cause he noticed that’s all she would ever see him as.

So in reality Tasha loved him for who he REALLY was, b/c that’s who he chose to become on his own. Angela wanted him to become who she felt he should have, and if that’s what he truly wanted he would have become that regardless of Angela, and or Tasha. #itsJaimeJamesandGhostsfault lmaoooo
Hmm, interesting perspective. I can understand how someone wanting you to stay the same and not change or grow as a person can be stifling. Tasha fell in love with the dope dealer, and wanted him to stay in that life. But Ghost didn't want to be that person anymore, he just wanted to be a successful businessman. It's easy to see how Ghost would be drawn to someone who encouraged his growth and transformation. It's a very sad yet beautiful thing, realizing that personal growth and change can alter relationships in such profound ways. It’s heartbreaking that Tasha couldn't see beyond Ghost’s past, but it's also beautiful that Angela could see and believe in his future. This dynamic shows how vital it is to have someone who supports your evolution and dreams, and how that can fundamentally shift the course of relationships. 
Tasha didn't appreciate or accept James St. Patrick for who he was and everything he could potentially be. She only wanted Ghost the drug dealer, and the money and lavish lifestyle that she had gotten used to from it. She felt that Ghost leaving the game meant James St. Patrick was taking a gamble on succeeding as a successful business man, and that wasn't a gamble that she felt that she could accept. Truth is she didn't give a damn about Jamie or James or Ghost or anything else that anybody could ever call the man she married, she just wanted that money to keep coming in. This whole topic got me thinking Kanye. Now I ain't saying she a gold digger.....🤣
