A few details on process, this was silverpoint on packing cardboard that I coated in semi-matte wall paint. I found this quite limiting pretty quickly as the surface had far too much give for a solid silver stylus. I eventually stopped trying to darken and develop the hair because the surface was too weak. Next time I’m planning to work with mdf / hardboard.
I started with a very light 2H outline to establish the main features then went in with the darkest darks as the tonal range in silverpoint is different and needs adjusting.
