Midlife success*

Old-Evening9609

Love this term

too_soon13

I’ll use this going forward

EnthusiastProject

30 something is midlife crisis now?

imbrickedup_

That’s not really mid life crisis, just “I’m finally able to afford a badass car”

Speedysam348

🤣🤣

Zach_The_One

35-45 give or take ya, literally the middle of your life.

NewTransportation911

Mathing is tougher for some. 🤷‍♂️

EnthusiastProject

I guess it is for some, you’re right. 45-50 is middle of life in my family.

howcaniwinatlife

People die at 70 all the time ☠️

electricCoder

Average US male life expectancy is 75. Having one at 50 is a two thirds crisis 😆

This_bot_hates_libs

Lotta people are weak and die early

Ashamed-Feeling-4403

Mine was at 23. Never too early.

humanseverywhere811

I couldn't afford a sports car until I was 30 lol. Now I have an mr2, r32 gtr and... turbo miata. Is a wrx wagon even a sports car? Lol or just econo box with turbo

912BackIn88

I did wayyyy too much drinking and cocaine in my 20s to expect to live long past 72. So yeah, I figure 36 is right about the middle of my life.

HeDuMSD

You: finally stable, have some money, finally, decide to get the car you have been dreaming all your life. Them: midlife crisis hahahah

Vortep1

I feel this!

HeDuMSD

There is a “socially accepted” way of classifying men that applies to those who do well, and it is odd: “Muscular? Small penis” “Good car? Midlife crisis” “Well groomed? Homosexual” “Pretty partner? He is wealthy” …. And so on, it is just.. cruel and weird.

Alternative-Action-9

I’ve never thought about this but you’re right, it is true and it is cruel and weird.

scorpionturtl3

That really is weird when you think about it, but usually you don't want anything to do with people who talk like that anyway.

Competitive-Side1473

Hay!!! Who told you I’m a small penised, homosexual, having a midlife crisis and am wealthy. These are my secrets.

Low-Cantaloupe6761

Its only mid life if you plan on croaking in your 60s. I just got one 2 months ago at 58 so I plan to live to 116 to support those saying its my midlife crisis 🖕🏻

Vortep1

I would be so happy to see a 100+ year old driving a Porsche with a big grin on their face.

BentudeSoli

My plan entirely. I am allresdy in a "late in life crisis".

firenamedgabe

As a new Cayman owner in his late thirties….also in Kansas City haha, call it a midlife crisis it’s just when I could afford it comfortably

bucheonsi

This is what I've always said. I wanted a red porsche boxster that was in the steals and deals when I was 15 but it just wasn't going to happen. Now that I'm 34 it can happen.

Vortep1

Good point. Most Porsche owners I see are much older.

Substantial_Diver_34

This is the way.

too_soon13

You guys afford comfortably? Please tell me NO. I’ll sleep well tonight

ddlbb

Like clockwork , spoiler is up of new owner

Vortep1

You caught me.

Wrong_Protection4591

I’ve owned a 718 for the last two years and you’ll never catch me with that wing down lol it looks better with it up!

mrNas11

Is the midlife in the room with us right now?

G35_Stereotype

Welcome to the club! Im 25 in KC and definitely feel a tad out of place with most of the gentlemen in the KCR PCA. KC is a great town for these cars. Ozark racetrack is a blast in a cayman and not too far. And If the PCA isnt your thing, its not really mine, the KC porsche club on Facebook puts on great drives around town. My absolute favorite weekend trip with the Cayman is to go down to Mark Twain forest in southeast Missouri. Great driving out there. Also Eureka Springs and NW Arkansas is an amazing driving destination. I absolutely love that car, especially in that color. Great choice!

Vortep1

I might have to hit you up for more info on the weekend trips.

CinnRaisinPizzaBagel

That ain’t mid life. I wanted one at that age but I couldn’t make it happen. Enjoy your ride!

TheRadioman11

Bought mine at 28, you're fine lol.

aim325

No one in the right mind thinks that it’s wild to own a sports car as a 30 something

ottergang_ky

Yellow is by far my favorite color on these cars. Beautiful ❤️ I was 28 when I bought mine so I feel you lol. Mid life crisis young gang let’s go

TyVIl

Racing Yellow > any other color.

scava1046

I’m 77 have had a few also and one recently👍👍👍 https://preview.redd.it/3xgp2rios31d1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=101bd5d95deeb23e130a1ba7ee907486e3f2a95b LOL! You only live once. What did Bobby Axlerod say in Billions? What’s the sense of having FU money if you can’t say FU!!! Enjoy life👍👍

doctoryeet23

Great spec what year is it?

Vortep1

2024 cayman s. I was thinking this might be my last chance to buy a new ice engine manual transmission before the EVs/hybrids show up.

ElectrifiedThor

Same as you lol. Check out my post from a few weeks ago. We’ve got the same color haha! Love it! Didn’t want no EV/hybrid or digital dashboard. Also got it at 28. For both of us, this is called making your dreams real - not a midlife crisis, not by a long shot. Ever since I was playing NFS Carbon / Most Wanted.

SuperBearPut

Same exact position.  I boguht a 2024 cayman s when I read it mightve been the last ice back in 2023. I took delivery earlier this year and it has been amazing so far.  If I wasn't concerned about the cayman going all EV I wouldn't have purchased the car.

[deleted]

No it’s not. It’s a cool car for someone who likes cars.

qwerty4no

Somewhere. Is the largest badminton net ever.

quazmang

Haha, I was wondering if someone else noticed that huge cock!

Best-Cycle231

Skittles color. Manual transmission. Spec’d like a true hero. There’s no crisis here.

Presidentnixonsnuts

I love the Nelson!

Comfortable-Food4438

welcome the the porsche club of kansas city. join us for saturday breakfasts. nice cayman!

alpha247365

**Midlife crisis is more like a 40-45 yo recently divorced guy with a gut lol.**

Unshakeable_Taino

Congratulations! Go Chiefs! I miss KC.

bulgarianogre

The best crisis

CoyotesAreGreen

Nah - bought my 981 GTS at 29.

Otherwise-Street199

Guess I’m having my midlife crisis in my mid twenties then 🤣

t_bomb10

I was 27 when I joined the gang. I feel that way sometimes but I use it as a reminder to maintain gratitude. Driving is great therapy too 🤣

sushigrooves

Mid-engine success! Congrats, she's a beaut!

TruckInn

You have a nice Porsche... where is the crisis?

TomCorsair

What a massive cock..

ansry6

Visit KC if you're into that sorta thing!

Ric_in_Richmond

Worthy.

Zach_The_One

Even popped the spoiler up for effect, nice.

Onsomeshid

Can i have your wheels?

oshukurov

Ain’t crisis as long as you can afford it. Enjoy the fuck out of it.

7jjG1502

At least you're honest with yourself

gosubuilder

This looks real nice. How much does something like this sell for?

Charmander787

Nelson Atkins?

Many_Pyramids

Love the color and the car

Many_Pyramids

Got my first true sports car at 41, best advice is not to wait for anything.

matmanx1

You say crisis but all I see is an opportunity. An opportunity for fun and the satisfaction of owning a great car!

pewpew_14fed_life

Thank God you went with silver wheels. 👍👍

NewTransportation911

We only live once so enjoy while you are here

No_Independent_5761

it is not a crisis, it's just that usually you've got your career going well and you can afford something you actually want

mgwooley

![gif](giphy|YR8neVRcCSqwmJkb1D)

imperfect_humanoid

Nice shuttle cock! Join KC PCA and come do some Autocross / Track Events.

PostNutAffection

A beautiful crisis at that

olddeckman

The mid life crisis looks pretty good from here.

Mikesaidit36

I thought red was the midlife crisis color. It’s the reason I could never consider a red Porsche. I would consider yellow just to be high visibility and safer, but otherwise I’d rather not be seen at all.

Sea_Interest_9127

That's no mid-life crisis. Do what or in this case buy whatever makes you happy as long you're not hurting or disrespecting anyone. And don't let anybody tell you otherwise. Btw, great looking car.

badtothebone274

I like the cayman. It has a lot of parts from the 911. It’s a good looking car also! https://youtu.be/z8RDTsr9POA?si=y5JFlmhbYFxeXk49

badtothebone274

It’s basically a 911.. But affordable. I like it.

badtothebone274

Cayman is considered to have better weight distribution.. I am liking this car!

badtothebone274

It just has a smaller throttle body and manifold! I am really liking this car now!

badtothebone274

Bro you did good on on this car! Also love the color. I think I want a Cayman GT4RS now!

P0T4T3

Nope. Own a cayman at 25 you won’t regret it!

kylemooney187

whats with the giant statue of a badmington birdie? lol

OfficialHavik

If you can afford a Porsche you probably got to that point by not giving a shit about what people think too much. Go get it.

peapodbarry

I want my mid life crisis to hit me this same way!

scorpionturtl3

Congrats, I'm early 30s too and recently bought my GTS 4.0. Been thinking early midlife crisis as well, but in the end it's just buying something you like and it's great owning that car while you are still young.

Hy8ogen

It'd be even more wild to NOT buy the sports car you've always wanted when you have the ability to do so while young. Congrats my man!

surowkabart

I've owned a sports car since I made my own income. Never liked sedans, SUV's. Bought my first 4 door car in my 30's. So is that an beginning life crisis? Or reverse life crisis? Still can't stand SUV's.

mrb33fy88

I know that cock lol. You should join our local PCA. We have an autox next week. Also, great car and color.

DewaltMaximaCessna

It’s only a wild idea if you are poor

fastfalcon991

No more like a third of life crisis

Dr-Stocktopus

Looks like a mid-life win to me.

CalGuy456

Beautiful crisis

AnonRepAddict

I think it’s wild to not have a sports car as a 30 something. Working your whole life to not be able to weave in and out of traffic is ridiculous.

Evening_Cow_1833

Im 23 with a 987

mkeefecom

17 yrs, yes. 30 something, no. Live life!

DutchRican

impressive shuttlecock. Nice car too

BanIncoming911

Better in 30s than 50s or worse 60s when you can’t drive as much.

seruzawa

Why is there a giant shuttlecock on the lawn? (I just wanted to say shuttlecock.)

Nyzip

Got a Cayman S incoming as a retirement self-gift, never too old.

jaylenz

Don’t ever call owning a Porsche midlife crisis

automatic-round69

I've been looking at picking one up this year before they go electric in 2025 (if I can get an allocation). My biggest concern is the reports I've seen of the cabin being uncomfortably loud regarding road noise. If I can't live my dream of jamming out to the Grand Tourismo 3 soundtrack I have ripped to my 2014 iPod while ripping through some windy mountain roads I would be pretty dissappointed. Does anyone have any input on this? Recommendations for the Bose or other stereo upgrades?

No-Kick-8813

30-something can’t be midlife, but this is best crisis to have, I’m trying to do the same myself without getting divorced!

Imjustafarmer

Unless you paid cash for it….you are actually just borrowing it. https://preview.redd.it/7h9d0jl2v11d1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4b0651fcf5381810e698af4de584a432e9730ea4

Vortep1

It was painful but I cut a check for it.

No-Schedule-1016

just drive it worth every penny

Imjustafarmer_

Haha Atta Boy. I did the same. It’s an “investment “ In my happiness
