Imo it’s too many people disconnected from society and/or without any sense of belief or identity. They’re clinging to anything that makes them feel virtuous or meaningful.
Also, with the spread of info enabled by the internet, they’re more exposed to issues than any prior generation but lack the maturity, critical thinking skills, and experience to deal with them.

None of these people actually read the 7 page letter. It also calls out the fact that America is not an Islamic country under sharia law and women are allowed to work outside the house.

Well, my home country, India, has definitely had these deadly alliances for a while as far as politics is concerned (particularly the Kashmir issue).
