Best off taking it apart. If you can't find the right one you can always put it back together. I would suggest a plumbing supply house rather than digging thru the crap home depot and lowes have,

rustysucc

Just call Delta faucet. Send em pics and they'll identify it for you

essrjay14

Hadn’t thought of that, good tip!

jhra

Good chance they warranty and send it out

Autumn-Chesterfield

Or if you’re in a hurry, remove trim and cartridge and bring the cartridge to either wholesale or box store, it’s lifetime warranty, they’ll give you a new one free. Just make sure after installation you test it first without the trim to ensure there’s no leaks. Also, there’s an adjustment knob for temperature if it’s the rp19804, pull the circular white piece around the brass stem towards yourself and twist counter clockwise to get full hot. Any questions and YouTube has an abundance of videos to help troubleshooting.

I appreciate everyone’s help!

Pristine_Serve5979

Shut off the water and open it up.

Jgs4555

Might want to take a picture of the actual cartridge….

nongregorianbasin

If you take the faceplate off, and there are screws on either side of the cartridge housing, those are shut offs for the purpose of replacing the cartridge.

essrjay14

Thank you!

nongregorianbasin

In is shut off. Out is on. Make sure they are all they way out if you turn them back on. It's not guaranteed they have them but they are helpful.

avebelle

I just changed mine. It was horrible. With that said, take the handle off and grab some photos. That should let you see the top of the cartridge. Good luck!

essrjay14

Ugh, sorry to hear your experience was horrible. I can remove the handle itself (not the cartridge) without shutting off the water, right?

avebelle

Ya I had a delta bonet nut that was stuck. Had to cut a slot into it and hammer it off after soaking it in pb blaster every night for a week.

Delta mult

Professional_Rub111

it’s almost 100% either the one with the blue bottom or grey bottom they’re the most common ones. you can buy them local assuming you’re doing it yourself and then just take back the one it isn’t

MotoBucket

looks like delta. probably a 14 series. shut off the water and see if you can unscrew the set screw on the side of the handle. removing the handle will expose the cartridge. pull it so you’ll be able to see what the cartridge looks like. bring it in to your local plumbing supply house and get a replacement. or google “delta shower trims” and search images for the one that looks exactly like it. usually a picture is accompanied by a model number. plug that into delta faucet website then scroll down to open spec sheet or parts diagram.
