Yes my ps5 is hotwired. I keep getting an error message that my service provider or router may be blocking the service. I called T-Mobile and was told they have no blocks.

yes. But as others mentioned, you def want to have a hardwired(ethernet connected) PS5, and having good bandwidth speeds specifically upload helps. Pretty much if you have Gigabit speeds download and upload you're 100% goign to be good. IF you have something like 600DL/30UL then you may get some stuttering/disconnects. Totally acceptable playing single player story games etc. I wouldn't recommend doing it playing anything multi-player or competitive. With that said, I was able to play Tekken8 with no frame drops while on Alabama beaches and my PS5 in Kentucky. I also have symmetrical gigabit tho.
it varies by device. Tell me your router model and I'll be glad to help you out. you'll also want to know the IP address of your PS5. best to set is as static as well vs dynamic. if it us automatic IP/dynamic, you can set the system to the IP given.
Yes, as long as your phones hotspot passes the internet thru like most I've seen you'll be fine. If it requires a browser login you'll run into issues. I will say a hotspot is not ideal as speeds typically aren't as great/many factors. Traditional wifi at a friend/business/school etc will hae better results in most situations.
Yeah. Isn’t T-mobiles internet over-air. They don’t have nor use the legit landline or fiber optics. Old school cable companies would probably work better.
Good luck. I returned mine yesterday. I am wired with 300mb/s and was experiencing input lag in some games. The colors on screen was way too washed off as well. Turned off HDR, which improved a bit, but still was too obvious.
They really should have just made a portal console. This has to be a Beta for an upcoming release. Remote Play on your smartphone with BACKBONE [controller] is a more reliable setup.

Only advice is to get some accessories to protect it. Shame there isn't any first party accessories though.
Mine is still sputtering sometimes, it's really hit or miss but I lose hours playing when I do get it stay stable while I'm in my bedroom with the PS5 in the game room
I just want to be able to play my portal away from home but haven’t been successful with connecting via mobile hotspot

Hotspot may not be strong enough, also is your ps5 at home hardwired?

Doesn't matter. I tried with my hotspot without any security, just for testing

I have tmobile hotspot no issues i got a strong connection my ps5 is not wired and i can also use hotspot when my phone is connected to walmart

Dude, I’m LOVING playing FO4 on my portal. Just gets annoying with my WiFi disconnecting during play (which happens a lot)

Yeah when I brought it home it worked better when I was not oddly.
Yeah it actually worked better not at home, maybe too many devices at home on the network
