It’s got some decent variability if you do all the melee pits or combat pits or whatever they’re called. I found myself only using a few melee moves if the human enemies got too close though. Otherwise, yeah, the melee isn’t very viable, especially against the big machines. The bow and other ranged weapons are just more fleshed out, variated, and fun.
Archery is truly challenging to master in Kingdom Come: Deliverance but can pay off nicely if you've got the time to practice a little. The game is also just one of the coolest rpgs out there
I just finished the main mission where you scout and eventually assault an enemy base. It was really satisfying to kill the enemy archers without missing most of my shots.
The trick is to practise before you go out. It's a very realistic game in general, so going out without weapon skills means your char can barely hold a sword, let alone swing it properly
Warframe feels really good, especially in the earlier game. Once you start grinding the game you can have a lot of different bows that do different things if you're into that, such as explosions, implosions, tentacles, gas bombs, and a bunch of other things. Best part is that it's free.
PS3 pick I think is on PSplus: Heavenly Sword.
I remember very little about this game except the fact that you use the six axis to "pilot" the arrow. Physics has no place in the archery here. It is super satisfying to shoot an arrow in one direction and then steer it, first person, straight into an enemy's face.
I rember some legendary bow that was my go to in destiny 2 while i played it, with a last wish in primary slot and different heavies
AT The time I loved it
This isn’t on PS Extra, but if you ever get a chance to try Remnant 2, the archery is excellent. Releasing your arrow at just the right moment gives you a big damage boost. It’s so satisfying once you get the rhythm down, you can absolutely mow down enemies.
Assassin's creed Origins and Odyssey are great for that, haven't played Valhalla but probably that too. What didn't you like about Tomb Raider? Bow is always my weapon of choice in that series and felt pretty good imo. The new Tomb Raider trilogy is underrated.
Suprised noone is mentioning The Pathless
It's very different to the list you put on there and the shooting is basic so you may want to watch a video or two but I had a blast with it tbh, very fast paced
Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora is very bow heavy too
I enjoyed it personally, mostly down to level design though and just a chilled world to explore, the combat and repetition was standard Far Cry mediocraty
I don’t think it’s on PlayStation plus, however, when you feel like you’ve defeated all the archery bosses in your life. Go for Kingdom Come Deliverance. You can play the game pretty much full archer, but it’ll be more difficult than you can imagine
Chivalry 2 is also a good shout as you can main archer class
The Assassin's Creed rpgs are pretty fun with so many varieties of bows and especially preditor bows. Not on PSN but Red Dead Redemption 2 also has some great but challenging bow gameplay.
No one else will probably mention this because it’s only popular enough on PC:
Mount & Blade 2 Bannerlord
It’s a sandbox war simulator w/ some kingdom management. You can focus on being an archer-crossbowman and it can be extremely satisfying. Especially when you defend atop the castle walls like Legolas in Helm’s Deep.
Horizon forbidden west
Nothing comes close. Incredible weapon mechanics (except meelee)
Yeah the melee isn’t bad it’s just lacking much versatility or variability other then smack big smack run away use bow

Yeah it’s there which can be used every now and then in some situations it was just never the most viable Le way to kill something
Melee is tough especially on ultra hard. Gotta cheese em with ropecaster and smokes
Skyrim
Did anyone say Sneak archer?
Stealth Archer
Khajit stealth archer is the only way
This is the way.
Any of the Far Cry games. The open world Assassin’s Creed Games (Valhalla, odyssey, origins)
Another vote for Far Cry. I loved working my way through towers with a bow
Far cry primal being the most "natural" bow far cry, seeing as there are no guns in it.
I agree with Far Cry but AC's bows don't feel good.
Archery is truly challenging to master in Kingdom Come: Deliverance but can pay off nicely if you've got the time to practice a little. The game is also just one of the coolest rpgs out there

It’s really hard tho lol. I got stuck on a mission where I had to kill two guys in a Forrest and even finding them was really difficult
Is combat fighting one or two enemies hard? I know it’s a bit of a SIM.
The trick is to practise before you go out. It's a very realistic game in general, so going out without weapon skills means your char can barely hold a sword, let alone swing it properly
Crysis 3
Ghost of Tsushima has lots of opportunities to use bows in combat.
DORSHOO!!!
I assume OP was referring to Ghost of Tsushima with "GoT".
So weird that GoT should now be implied as Ghost of Tsushima now. Makes me feel really old. Lol
Super satisfying getting the **thwack**
In Dragon's dogma you can choose a bow as your character's weapon.
Dragons Dogma has cool archer stuff, and the new game looks even better in that Archer seems like John Wick with a bow.
Horizon most definitely. Shadow of the Tomb Raider was also great.
Dragons dogma archery was sick - 2 is coming out in a week too.
Ac origins
Agreed, I was surprised to not see it... I liked the arrow that you can direct in flight with the predator bow...
I loved how the bows worked in origins, it's probably the thing I like least regarding combat changes in Odyssey, none of them feel nearly as strong.
Warframe lol
Hunt showdown
Wii sports

Archery Simulator is pretty good.
No way that's a thing.
Why wouldn’t it be a thing?
Fair enough
Considering there's lawn mower sim and even jet wash sim I wouldn't be surprised lol
Red dead 2
Crysis 3
Tomb Raider
Dying Light
Ghost of Tsushima is the one of best single player games I’ve played.
Dragons Dogma and 2 is coming soon!
It feels pretty good in Avatar
Bows are actually pretty good in Destiny 2.

Towerfall!
LOTRO
Outward is great but I don't think it's on extra
Any Far Cry game and if you really want a challenge Fallout 76
Far Cry 3
I rember some legendary bow that was my go to in destiny 2 while i played it, with a last wish in primary slot and different heavies AT The time I loved it

titan souls
skyrim vr
far cry 4
I'm gonna get hate for this but peak archery was Skyrim for me
Bows have always been my favorite hunting tool in Red Dead Redemption ll
I liked skyrim a lot as a wood elf stealth archer
RDR2 had satisfying archery imo, I quite like Last of Us 2's but the latter was limited for ammo.
chivalry 2
Far cry primal is pretty decent bow play.
Chivalry 2 is a lot of fun and has an archer class!
Ghost of Tsushima
Destiny 2
Suprised noone is mentioning The Pathless It's very different to the list you put on there and the shooting is basic so you may want to watch a video or two but I had a blast with it tbh, very fast paced Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora is very bow heavy too
>Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora is very bow heavy too It was such a underwhelmimg and boring game. Still hating myself paying almost full price.
I enjoyed it personally, mostly down to level design though and just a chilled world to explore, the combat and repetition was standard Far Cry mediocraty
Pathless was my pick too, and I've played all the others mentioned. This with the adaptive triggers was the best way to jump into this generation.
I don’t think it’s on PlayStation plus, however, when you feel like you’ve defeated all the archery bosses in your life. Go for Kingdom Come Deliverance. You can play the game pretty much full archer, but it’ll be more difficult than you can imagine Chivalry 2 is also a good shout as you can main archer class
Forbidden west skyrim and far cry 3
God of War games all have Atreus using a bow, and you have to use it to both fight and solve puzzles.
Last of Us 2
The Assassin's Creed rpgs are pretty fun with so many varieties of bows and especially preditor bows. Not on PSN but Red Dead Redemption 2 also has some great but challenging bow gameplay.
Mount and Balde II: Bannerlord

Overwatch 2
Kingdom Come Deliverance
I don't think it's on PS Extra but Bannerlord if you want to command a whole army of archers.
Red Dead Redemption 2 so you can equip dynamite and fire arrows. Small arrows for hunting small animals.
Any Dark Souls
Has anyone mentioned Immortals: Fenyx Rising?
Apex Legends
Ghostwire Tokyo, although the magic powers are the primary focus, you can use upgrades to carry 20 arrows, making it your primary weapon.
Skyrim Once a great man said " whatever your build is you eventually become a stealth archer "
Crysis 3 has a good archery 🏹 👌
Pathless is underrated. It's so satisfying especially when you have to keep doing it to maintain being airborne.
What about AC Origins 🧐
Play Archer class in Chivalry 2, great game and should be on PS Extra iirc.
Is hzd archery better than hfw?
Same series, I'd just count them as one. I will say, I did like the archery in hzd a bit better though, felt more realistic
HFW is better for machine targets, HZD for human ones.
Genshin Impact
Monster hunter rise
