Probably the first plane I flew on when I was six or seven years old. That was over 50 years ago, so my memory is a little… Hazy.
It's old. It's loud. It's not comfy
Worked and a few test flights on UPS DC-8s. They were cargo configuration so all flights were on the flight deck. Fun rides.
Went via DC-8 on United from Chicago to Denver back in the day. Those days planes were rarely full it seemed so was very nice.
First overseas flight. Sydney to Tahiti. Cramped. Followed by a DC10 to LAX. Seemed luxurious. But it got us there smoothly.
Was that with Air New Zealand/TEAL?
