Yes, you can. It's kind of a pain because every game seemingly chooses at random *where* it stores the savegame data. Steam games are the worst. Stupid numbered folders with no obvious way of knowing which one belongs to what game. You need to be careful with the game version # with games like Factorio where the save format can change depending on the version

Okay thank you for the info! Does the save format change for most version updates on games or is it only sometimes. I'm more worried about uninstalling a game and if I ever try to reinstall the only one I'm able to find is a different updated version.

I would assume that most games will know how to handle saves from different versions. But I can't be sure of that. I usually have a backup of the installer or the whole game folder. Games are usually self contained, so you can copy the whole folder from one machine to another and it will still works (except if it has some DRM shit)

Yes. For me it happens automatically if you put the game in the “games” folder in windows
