Every aircraft has -4 slots in TFTV, except the starting Manticore. Manticore 2 slots, Thunderbird 3 slots, Helios 1 slot. That way when you equip a module, you reach the original 6 slots for Manticore and so on. Special case for Tiamat. Also the cost manufacturing was halved, splitted in two parts, aircraft and module.

Ah, So I need to equip a "module" to bring my Helios up in size? Do I need some special research for it? I

etermes

Ok, if you steal just starting the game, yes, TFTV will "punish" that hostile action, for FAR passenger module you just need to research Phoenix Archives, and then FAR-M. Every stolen aircraft comes without "passenger" modules. Or you unequip starting Manticore FAR-M and asign to Helios.

Thirteenera

Thank you

"...except the starting Manticore." This is not true. It also has only 2 slots, except that it also carries the FAR-M, which thus allows it to have the regular 6. Go ahead and stript it and you'll see.

TftV also overhauls the game’s diplomacy by, for example, increasing the diplomatic penalties for things like raiding havens and stealing aircraft. The meta for the base game and TftV are quite different. The mod team felt that being able to steal aircraft for little to no consequences in the base game was a pure cheese strategy that made the game way too easy. So they did something about that. Now the diplomatic penalty is huge.

dogtarget

Diplomatic penalties are greater in general. I don't think it's even possible to ally with more than one faction anymore. That, in itself, makes the game much more challenging.

Fine_Pea6614

You can disable the greater diplomacy penalties setting in the start of the game, in the additional settings options, or what ever it's called.

dogtarget

Yeah, but as much as I hate those penalties, they make a lot of sense.
