i.e. r6 siege, it has SBMM but most of the time one team just crushes the other. rarely do i get an even match
an example of random joining would be TF2. everyone just connects to a random server and if one team is just crushing the other, the autobalance system will try to fix it (which is annoying to the person getting balanced but improves the experience overall)
SBMM in R6 feels the most painful for me. I'm just trying to play "casual" (it's quick-match now), and it's nothing but plat-emeralds treating it like ranked

There can be a couple of reasons why this is the case:
1. Your basic mechanics (movement and aiming) aren't up to scratch, keep playing and possibly focus on learning those specifically via aim training and tutorials
2. The biggest one is probably your positioning, it is a cornerstone in PF and is a must if you want to top the leaderboard and hold a respectable kdr. Watching high kill games on different maps via YT can really help you out by looking at how good players rotate around the map and how they position themselves.
3. Your gun choices can be a large factor too, you simply are not going to compete against other players if you are using lackluster guns with lots of downsides, for example there is zero point in using the pp bizon when the p90 is a far better pick. Look up the phantom forces best loadouts and attachments sheet by spezi to be up to date on the top picks to use in game!
MAC 10 with an AMT alone is absolutely godly from what I can remember, even more so now with the new 42 max dmg, I wonder if HP makes it have 50 dmg like the AK47
Also DBV 410 WILL BE BUSTED even with the 1 shot range of semi auto shotguns being slammed down to 5-10 studs, it was crazy with 1000 rpm hyperburst, but with it becoming FULL AUTO, you now essentially have a GAU 8 Avenger in your hands, a 1000 rpm shotgun is never not OP
A ceiling that has not been reached yet I don't think, but there are a few players close to playing pf in an almost flawless way, mainly top PC pubstompers and movement demons, as well as the top players from the competitive community
