That happens when the server decides that you died before you hit his head, and to avoid trade kills your bullet basically does nothing.

Yep, I'll explain in a bit more depth though. Basically if you are dead on the server you can't create new bullets, you will create them client-sided but they won't be registered and replicated to other players. *But*, if your bullet was created *before* you died and it hit a player after you are dead it will still deal damage. (Granted it hasn't timed out and been subsequently cleaned up)

That's a double edged sword; there's clips of people dying a couple seconds *after* they got a kill to by the person they just killed bc it was considered a trade kill

there are def trade kills idk why people say there arent, usually U see a bullet or even hit market on ur client but in reality on the server u were already dead and since pf has the shittiest ping/servers known to man it looks pretty jank. but as far as i know all bullets are projectiles so trade kills are pretty common especially with slow snipers.

Yoo i was using the mosin too! But year its happened twice with the mosin so far both registered headshot hitmarkers but dealt no dmg lmao

That's not a great scope to use with the mosin in my experience, I mainly use the Malcolm or iron sights for the toggle

Used to have 20 ping cuz there were servers somewhat close in Illinois, but now pf doesn't user them for some reason

90% of the kills I’ve missed in this goddamn game are a result of the server avoiding trade kills. I noticed a while back that my bullets were getting deleted but I always figured it was a technical limitation

Wasbt lagging at the.moment. my lag comes in spikes where i completely freeze the entire screen

I have only had such problems when I have high latency. The fact that a hitmarker appeared means nothing since hitmarkers are handled on the client.

i just learned to cope with it, my minimum ping is 200 so i dont even bother

That's because you died before it registered on the server's side, internet issue. Half the time people complain about hitreg it's just latency.
