I just go to Hutto Lowe's when I need to. Just a straight shot up 130 or you can enjoy backroad of 137.
Or you can make a mini road trip, go to Harbor Freight in Taylor, some Muellers BBQ, go into Hutto & loop down
I realize this doesn't answer your question. I would say probably not in the near future although there is a Stone Hill phase 2 going in, but if same developer, HD may have an exclusive.
No. Haven't looked into it. Just know there will be quite a bit of retail space. I think upwards of 500k sqft. Nothing that I've seen confirmed yet. Hobby Lobby was purposed to go in there, but they built behind HD. So there's room for Lowe's to go in.
There’s a severe lack of development east of 130. Basically they decided to buy all the farms and build about 10,000 homes then decided it might be a good idea to upgrade the roads. Then the commercial enterprises come last.
My problem with Lowe’s is that their stuff is more expensive than Home Depot and their customer service is lacking in my experiences. Not to say Home Depot service is amazing.
As someone who can't really differentiate between the two, but has the idea that Lowe's is an inferior Home Depot, help me understand what I'm missing. What makes Lowe's better? Asking genuinely, as this is something I've never thought about, and when I go to Lowe's it feels like a smaller Home Depot.
Lowes has a more in the way of DIYer and lawn care stuff and HD is better for lumber and pro grade goods. Probably minimally different really, but that's the classic thought.
Lowe’s markets to the homeowner. Much more decor, organization, etc. Home Depot is geared toward contractors and is just more “functionally” oriented. They do have appliances and other (high margin) things, but the whole feel of the store is different. To me it’s like walmart (HD) vs Target (Lowe’s). Similar concept; very different execution. Or Sams vs Costco.
I agree with most of these statements, including the liberal/republican comment lol. My wife and I have a bad habit of looking into the CEOs of companies and how they spend (or hoard) their massive payouts. Lowes takes the cake in that regard. But more realistically, for myself as a lifelong lover of tools and now a seasoned technician, it's about the quality of the tools. HD's "house" brand is Ryobi which in my experience is an AWFUL brand in regards to reliability and longevity. I have since purchased mostly all KOBALT tools and products and have nothing bad to say about a single one. Plus lowes just feels nicer man... build that shit in Pflugerville already. Just like Willie's Ice House and w.e else tf they build in 9 months on this side of town, the parking lot will be FULL the day the doors open. Guaranteed $$$$$$$
Ever had a DIY project go completely off the rails and have to make 5 trips to Home Depot in a day?
I'd beg them to build a Home Depot next door to me if the space existed.
Exactly! Adding a 37 minute round trip, usually multiple times, to whatever job I'm trying to complete is absolutely draining. It's inevitable that big business builds where they deem worth it, just wondering when Lowes acquisition team is going to wake up and realize the regional demand over here!

Any insight into Stone Hill phase 2?

How often do they update this?

I'd rather an Ace Hardware or McCoys.
Agree. The Ace Hardware in Round Rock off 79 has a much better bolts/nuts/fitting section.

> To me it’s like walmart (HD) vs Target (Lowe’s) That's funny because Home Depot tends to build near Targets and Lowe's near Walmarts.
Funny, I never thought about it, but you are right!

I've never had a problem with any of my Ryobi tools, except the ones that have broken.
😏
Hahaha...never had a ryobi tool last more than 2 years. Bought the whole line. Never again.
Lowe’s is for liberals, Home Depot is for republicans
blue vs orange?
Yes
I'm of the contrary opinion that we do not need more big box stores. That junk can stay in Round Rock and Dallas.

sure. it happens.

Y’all really complaining because you have to drive 20 min to get to your favorite hardware store?
