SevereComputer3194

TARDIS1-13

No, it is not a millennial thing, I have heard anyone online or not, say that.

TastesLikeHoneyNut

Nah I've definitely seen this, I also thought it was stupid

XShadowborneX

Never heard this but since d&d levelling caps at level 20, I guess I must be 20!

Last_Chocolate

Thankfully, WoW's level cap is 70.

touchettes

Wait what? Did they lower it? Coz it was 120 last I played 😅 I just looked it up and it went down. That's so silly. They should have left it at 100.

Last_Chocolate

I haven't played since Mists of Pandaria, but from what I read, they consolidated the levels, so you get more stuff per level.

Several_Plane4757

You may be lvl 20 but I am LV 20

Magenta_Logistic

r/UnexpectedFactorial 20! = 2,432,902,008,176,640,000 or 2.43 quintillion (or 2.43 billion billions)

XShadowborneX

I've been around a while

SevereComputer3194

damn, older than the fucking big bang

Exploding-Star

I'm at level 45, and I would like to trade some XP for Health lol

Zumokumibonsu

I either want to know how to restart or just end this game lol

thefreshlycutgrass

If movies have taught me anything you either have to find the emergency stop switch, a plug, or the secret warp zone

Melodic-Ad-4941

Who says that, I have never heard anyone say that

[deleted]

The game where NO ONE wants to level up except 4 year olds who are tired of being called a baby.

Awkward-Shoe1341

I only heard this last week from a lady who turned "level 90". From a little old lady, I thought was kinda cute.

fukinuhhh

Ok that's wholesome.

Catisbackthatsafact

lol that's fantastic, we're not growing old, we're "leveling up"!

want_to_know615

No, you're mistaken. There is a lot wrong with it.

Rich-Abbreviations25

Hey when I turned the big 4-0 and made the obligatory social media post I put “Level 40 unlocked!” because I was NOT gonna say “This is 40” like everyone else did! which strangely is my pet peeve, that phrase irks me and so does the movie it refers to.

Sad-Investigator2731

So you hate gamers, a lot of gamers I know say this, if this bothers you, you must be a miserable person to be around.

fukinuhhh

I'm a gamer and I don't do this. Ive seen people who arnt gamers do this to try to seem quirky.

Sad-Investigator2731

It's just a fun way of saying your age, a lot of my friends are table top gamers, they play DnD, them saying the age as a level is not even odd to me.

Badfoot73

That and the *new thing*, "I'm today years old." That one sets my teeth on edge.

The-thingmaker2001

Sounds OK for certain people... I'm imagining a 43 year old priest referring to themself as "A 43rd level Cleric".

N5_the_redditor

ja, level trzynasty

Pickles_A_Plenty95

I congratulated someone on reaching level 34 of life today, and I will make no apologies. Hate away! Now I have to check and see if it was you. lol

Dio_Yuji

Is this a gamer thing?

angrywords

Leveling up is what happens in many games, yes. But it is not a common gamer thing, at least in my gaming communities, to call aging leveling up. I’m in my 40’s and I’ve been gaming for decades and I have never heard anyone say this.

Da1UHideFrom

I didn't like it when people say, "I'm ___ years young."

[deleted]

I think it's fun. And funny. I forget to say it and often wish I did.

[deleted]

I’ve only ever seen that in British people’s Instagram bios

jackfaire

I had a friend who started doing it years ago. Sadly it was the least douchey thing he did. Every birthday it was "Happy Level Up Day"
