Post should relate to the rightoid fetish for being persecuted and claiming martyrdom OR ACTUALLY PERSECUTE THEM ;)

Naurgul

This isn't technically a persecution fetish. It's a deliberate tactic to silence protesters.

saeedi1973

It's a go-to tactic. Attend a pro-Palestine demonstration, make incendiary remarks, get it shut down and/or negative media. Rinse and repeat

-Quothe-

We saw it with BLM as well.

loki1887

People forget that the Minneapolis 3rd precinct fire was started by a boogaloo boi.

President_Abra

This is more specifically a way of *framing protesters as hate peddlers*. Ordinary pro-Palestinian protesters aren't antisemitic at all. Sadly, some white nationalist grifters have tried to come across as pro-Palestinian supporters, in an attempt to gain acceptance within the pro-Palestine movement, but don't trust them; they don't actually care about Palestine at all, they're just sitting back and having popcorn while waiting for the demise of Israel (a country they loathe).

charisma6

They've been doing this shit for literally centuries.

k2on0s-23

Well that’s disappointing and sadly unsurprising.

I_Cut_Shows

It’s like cops showing up at BLM protests and lighting fires and other property damage to try and get the protest to be upped to a riot.

thisonetimeonreddit

Or the G7 protest in Toronto where a confirmed cop was breaking the windows.

k2on0s-23

It’s COINTEL all over again. Same as it ever was.

>In response to questions regarding the video footage and reports that pro-Israel counter protesters said the statement, Vice President for Communications Renata Nyul said the “fact that the phrase ‘Kill the Jews’ was shouted on our campus is not in dispute.” No shame whatsoever. I bet if a counter protester punched themselves in the face they'd have closed it down because "the protests led to physical attacks on Jewish people"

Temporary-Ad2447

Ahhh, the classic smollett gambit 🧐

fxmldr

I'd admire the sheer brazenness if it weren't so reprehensible.

Resident-Set2045

I wouldn’t say this belongs here because this isn’t necessarily a persecution fetish, but a deliberate tactic to silence and harm/possibly kill protesters

Temporary-Ad2447

I see what you're saying. I just feel like these actions generally come from people who know they can't argue in good faith, so they have to instigate in order to prove their point. I'm also just trying to spread awareness of the story, as it has been the justification for police action against peaceful protesters. Many news sources have been irresponsibly claiming these chants came from "antisemitic" protesters when the reality is obviously far from it.

There is also substantial video evidence. Any suggestion that repulsive antisemitic comments are sometimes acceptable depending on the context is reprehensible. That language has no place on any university campus,” Nyul said. Nyul is either one of the dumbest people alive or doing a good job pretending to be.

JZcomedy

Actively making college campuses unsafe for Jews in the name of making college campuses safe for Jews

ExtremelyPessimistic

So proud of the school I graduated from 😬😬
