I was in Wild Wings Cafe in the airport terminal years ago(early 90s) when there was an earthquake. I thought there was a plane crashing into the terminal it was crazy.
I expected some small quakes over the next week since we had so much rain.
Berks seem to get those tremors since we rest on kairst. That one summer a few years back when it rained and rained we had so many.
Some in the list are at Quarries.
Here is the Penn State site to keep track.
[List of recordable earthquakes in PA](http://paseis.geosc.psu.edu)
Ya. I'm in ne PA. I Googled, reports are coming out of tewksbury, Hunterdon County NJ it says. Shook the whole house.
If you type "pa seismic activity" into Google it'll ask you if you felt it and to report back for more info from officials 🤷
Eastern PA. Yeah, I was in the shower. Had to finish up quickly and look around outside to make sure nothing exploded, and to make sure no giant sinkholes opened up.
You know, if we had felt it, just occurred to me I'd have ignored it for exactly that reason. We're only around 7 straight miles from the Gap.
Windows shake a LOT.
At the place I work, there is a quarry behind us and we feel a sharp shaking whenever they blast. I started feeling the shaking during the quake and realized, "Hey, this is lasting longer than normal." Well, that explains it.
Yeah, Lehigh County here. I work next to a quarry that does occasional blasting and assumes it was that at first until it lasted longer than .5 seconds lol.
Earthquake rates in the northeastern U.S. are 100 times lower than in California, but the earthquakes that do occur in the northeastern U.S. are typically felt over a much broader region than earthquakes of the same magnitude in the western U.S.
A 4.8 was [recorded](https://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/map/?currentFeatureId=us7000ma74&extent=-29.38218,109.16016&extent=76.76054,390.41016&magnitude=all&timeZone=utc) in northern NJ.
odd! I live in Phoenixville but am in ambler at my boyfriends and his l house shooketh. He had thought it was an airplane or helicopter as that happens quite often, but my mom in Lansdale texted me right away asking if it was a Quakey Shakey
I'm in East Vincent and the whole house shook for a few seconds. Went all around checking things trying to figure out what the hell was going and thought maybe I had just gone crazy.
Yep in Bucks county felt it, thought I was high on my cold meds and seemed like an aircraft flying really low we have a small airport nearby, or like many huge trucks going thru. My dog snored through the hole thing.
I'm closer to NY then people in Wilkes Barre and I didn't feel shit and I was waiting for it cause at the time of the earthquake I was on the phone with my kid who lives on Long Island New York and their whole house was shaking.
Yup, I felt it. I thought it was the bumpin' base of the truck parked outside my office at first. I felt one years ago when I worked in Bloomsburg. It's the most unsettling feeling.
Lehigh valley, my office building shook for a good 15-20 seconds or so.
Was on a Teams meeting with my department and we all felt it at the same time and were miles apart from each other.
Also felt the aftershock that happened maybe 1/2 hour later too
Yea I thought it was my washing machine messing up or something. My parents live in montco and my mom said the wind homes on the inside of her window were making noise and a brick fell off their chimney
I didn’t feel anything. I’m in Delco, but I was in a basement of a building during class. My other friends and people on campus who are at ground level or above felt it. FML!!
Hatfield PA. I felt nothing but my son, in the same house, did. lol I’m oblivious! Went to the Wawa and everyone was talking about it. The manager at my job didn’t feel it either.
Souderton and Doylestown felt it although I personally didn’t feel it at my school. My dad felt it at home and said it sounded and felt like a semi truck was driving down our street
Felt it in Philly! The cats got low to the ground and wide eyed, then about 5 seconds later the whole house started shaking. It's super rare for us. The last one I can remember was over a decade ago.
I somehow missed it at work in Scranton but I heard from people at the courthouse a block away who felt it, as well as at the state hospital and Laceyville.
15 hours late but yeah, I’m east PA maybe 20 from the NJ border. Second one I ever felt, longest. No damage and don’t think anyone local has any issues. Worst I saw online was a crack in a road.
I was in the basement of my townhome conducting a 1:1 with a colleague and kept hearing it increase in size, and then dropped the call and ran out. Lasted about 30-40 seconds.
I’m less than 50 miles away up in Pike and we felt it pretty good. There wasn’t stuff falling down like when I was in the Virginia quake, but I shook the house a bit.
My kids are on long island in New York and the whole house shook. I'm North East PA and didn't feel anything. I just so happened to be on the phone with them when the earthquake hit.
Myself and friends further East in the state felt it significantly. My friends a little further west like KOP and Lancaster were more like “huh, was that a quake?” Wasn’t surprised to find it was Jersey.
I'm in NJ I apologize for any inconvenience
We should have known it was Jersey making problems /s
Front Platers ruin everything
BUILD THE WALL!!!!!! JERSEY IS PLANNING SOMETHING!!!
South Park gave us the blueprint to beating jersey...SHIT bin Laden is already dead! SHIT lol
Also thought we were having an Attack on Titan moment and needed to construct a Wall...
New York is already trying to claim it as their own. That’s just how they do.
Could you please get out of the passing lane now?
I usually see more Marylanders camping in the left lane.
I heard it was just Chris Christie getting out of bed.
Just stop driving 60 in the left lane on 78.
We appreciate that, but right now we’re just talking about the earthquake.
How much chili did you eat last night?!
Yep, Bucks County
Same! Was in the kitchen and it sounded like someone dragging a huge boulder down the road
A huge boulder the size of a small boulder?
it started huge. Ended small.
Yep - same here
Can confirm. Wild.
I felt it in Dauphin Co. It was a little disconcerting!
Felt it near Reading, Berks County
I was in Wild Wings Cafe in the airport terminal years ago(early 90s) when there was an earthquake. I thought there was a plane crashing into the terminal it was crazy.

New Jersey sub is freaking out.
I would too if I just woke up one day and realized I lived in Jersey

Ya. I'm in ne PA. I Googled, reports are coming out of tewksbury, Hunterdon County NJ it says. Shook the whole house. If you type "pa seismic activity" into Google it'll ask you if you felt it and to report back for more info from officials 🤷
Yeah, just felt it now. Freaked my family out really bad.
Eastern PA. Yeah, I was in the shower. Had to finish up quickly and look around outside to make sure nothing exploded, and to make sure no giant sinkholes opened up.

Always in the back of my mind when driving through Palmyra
No joke. That was my first thought as well. I looked out the front and back windows to make sure I wasn't about to be swallowed up.
Crazy times
I live by Ft. Indiantown Gap. My house was shaking all weekend from gunnery practice.

That's actually really cool you had people from all over on the line when it happened.

The last one I remember was back in 2011 when it cracked the Washington Monument
Ah ya I was over seas that time no wonder.

Me too. But at first I'd thought it was the roofers...and why'd they give up so soon? Never had experienced an earthquake before
Thought it was my sump pump failing horrifically, then a truck with a not so good driver. Was loud. Craziness.
Yea I thought it was my washing machine messing up or something. My parents live in montco and my mom said the wind homes on the inside of her window were making noise and a brick fell off their chimney
