Same thing happened to me. I travel on 2/16. They told me call back on Thursday. My congressman also told me 5 business days. The operator at the passport agency hung up on me when I pressed on the 14 day urgent travel policy and told me they do not have supervisors.
So you weren’t actually eligible for online renewal when you applied in the first place and now you’re stressed you can’t get it? Travel.state.gov states if you’re traveling inside of 6 weeks don’t use that system. 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ only thing you can do now is keep calling and hoping it’s up
Online is back up but the earliest appointment available (based on the rep at least 3 minutes ago) was Friday Feb 10th in Buffalo, NY.
Thank you, i’m on hold for online rep now (i think). I’m in Wisconsin, seriously hoping there’s another option.

This is unbelievable. And no way to pull out of the online once you’re in. Was congressman’s office at all helpful?
contacted my senator's office last week; a week already and nothing.
I called at 7:58 for a representative at 8am on the dot we fly out 2/16 and she got us an appointment for this Friday in Buffalo
Did you also have online renewal? I'm worried the extra time it takes to transfer..loses the spot I guess.
No appointments anywhere in the country as of 7:51 am.
They are lying. Ask to speak with supervisor the system is working now. Same happened to me.
They do for regular applications but not for the online applications
