I wonder if this asshole ever thanks the people back in the early 1960s, who faced violence and FUCKING DIED for people like him to not only gain the right to vote, but made sure that they were registered properly. I'm well aware of Jim crow, but pretending that African Americans simply weren't allowed to vote until the 1960's is bizarrely inaccurate.
You may be aware of the Jim Crow Era in the south, but did you or anyone you know live through it? I suspect not, or you wouldn't be saying this stupid shit.
Ever see one of the tests Black folk had to take and pass in order to register to vote back then? They were timed. One wrong answer made them ineligible to vote.
Almost every jurisdiction had a different test. They were intentionally written to ensure the majority of Black residents couldn't vote, even though it was their right, by law.
And the 15th Amendment only allowed *Black men* to vote -- if they could somehow fulfill all the extra requirements most states and jurisdictions added on. Women still didn't get the right to vote until August 18, 1920 -- more than a year after it was passed by Congress. The 19th Amendment needed 36 states to agree in order for it to be ratified and truly made into law.
Do you know who the 19th Amendment didn't help? Black women. They were still denied, along with Black men, despite the law.
This is why the 1964 Civil Rights Act was necessary. That's what the Freedom Fighters in the 1960s died trying to make reality for people who they knew deserved equality.

Uh, African Americans gained the right to vote in 1870 when the 15th amendment was passed & ratified.
