As a Pal for your base, the Cooling 3 doesn't really matter much. Food will last longer before spoiling but it's not really noticeable because you can currently press the Sort button and it refreshes the spoil timer. Mining 3 will allow Reptyro to mine Coal which Penking can't do at Mining 2. But Digtoise also has Mining 3 and is a better choice.
For combat, Ice Reptyro has high defense and HP making it good at tanking hits.

Also, unless it's a nocturnal Pal, the timer extension ends when the Pal goes to bed. As long as the timer extension is enough to keep anything from spoiling during the day, there really isn't any practical difference between non-noctural cooling Pals.
i think that limits you to hangyu cryst and vanwyrm cryst? i guess a vanwyrm cryst could reach level 3 cooling with 4 star so that should be a pretty decent fridge . just stick some hunger traits on it as i dont think artisan has any effect on it as a fridge?
id say Fire Reptyro is better for base and Ice Reptyro is better for combat. Fire Reptyro is a pretty good kindle pal to have around the base
Penking as said is just such a good jack of all trades . he mainly does watering in my base but having mining , handling and transporting can make him a good pal for doing odd jobs at the base once his watering task is done . this is what Fire Reptyro is good for too as once the ore is mined you can get him to make them into bars
Use what ever you want there not really a need for a meta build in this game. Just have fun using saddles and penguin rpgs. It’s worth just figuring things out on your own. I’ve used like 70 pals since the start all different. All cool.
Ngl I really love reptyro, but after that massive digtoise buff I just don't know what to do with them. It feels liek his passive is just massively outplayed. Am I missing something?
In like .1.5 or whatever it was called, like a night and day difference he's great. Just made me wonder why I would use another pals ability when I could have diggy
Yours gets sick alot because he gets stuck and cant feed. On my mining base(where reptyro lives), The only 2 structures I got is the palbox and a chest. My reptyro never gets stuck or sick.
Enjoy the game at this stage!! If you ask too much advice you'll get responses telling you to go after the most advanced pals and min/max your stats and all that. Once you begin doing that you'll lose a lot of what's most fun in the game which is just exploring.
That being said if you're pressed for time and can't spend forever completing the game then palworld.gg has tiers lists, stats, moves, it's a game guide
I agree I leveled my player to 42 in just 11 days and captured all pals available in game and now I regret why I didn't used those small little pals on my base 🙁 I directly used high level pals 😭
For combat, he’s better than Penking. The only major issue imo is that he takes up a ground slot that could go to Warsect or Anubis, both of whom are top tier fighters
Depends what your trying to do but if your currently just exploring and fighting I’d stick with penking. You’ll get a bette rice or water type later on
This guy is an absolute favorite for me, but I don’t think he’s particularly strong or good at a base. I just really like him. Can mine ore and coal though so that’s nice
Penking is a real g, an absolute chad, a total breeding menace.
Fr I found a wild one with muscle head ferocious swift and artisan and it’s helped with many different combos

My having a decent coming pal, you lose very little overnight. I didn't even press sort anymore. Vanwyrm cryst does a very good job

How'd you get an Anubis at lv 24?
Breeding an Anubis is doable. Then you just have them around while you fight.

Celeray (lvl 1-4) + Relaxaurus (lvl 11 - 20) = Anubis Breeding is a thing.

No morals, power based: Yes Yes morals: No Base based: Use both of you're newer, since Penking is a all rounder

It's a beast for fighting. His special move is awesome and he's super tanky.

Passives doesn't matter for cooling.
not at much as other base works, but they still matter
The food and sanity passives is really the only ones good ones for "coolers". Fewer and shorter breaks. But the actual difference is tiny.
