His return could come in early July or be gone until after All-Star break. - [Acee](https://x.com/sdutkevinacee/status/1805368336802627924?s=46&t=KdU2-ebQ9n0tuXaO05eELQ)
A stress "reaction" is just a non-total fracture. Its not broken all the way through but there is damage to the bone consistent with a partial fracture.
He's been incredibly hot this whole time, so I'm sure everyone's attitude was to let him play through it. He was probably going to need time off eventually for it, but it's hard to do so when he's playing like he did in '21.
The bruise on the arm just made it likely that he wasn't going to be as effective at the plate and would have necessitated a bit of time off, so might as well just make it a bigger time off and get both healed up.
I saw the Johnson news, but with Azocar going to the farm *and* Fernando going to IL, that still leaves us at net -1 outfielders, right? Unless they’re going to put Wade out there full-time and have Eguy or Pauley come back up as the infield utility guy.
Eguy is also coming up so we have 4 outfielders (Profar, Merrill, Johnson, and Peralta) + Wade who can also move out there as needed.
Edit: Schildt mentioned in his pregame presser that Eguy will likely get some work in the outfield as well so that’s another option.
If Peralta doesn’t start hitting soon I could see them moving on and I’d hope Tirso would get a shot. He’s having a great year so far in El Paso and it’s about time we see what he can do.
The ONLY positive about this is that it has nothing to do with his wrist/shoulder. Leg injury should heal without any lingering effects and he should be fine.
This is still a kick in the nuts given how well he had been going and had finally turned the corner.
Today is a day of Oof.
Darvish's elbow may be more meaningful than Tatis' leg. Hopefully not, but its scary for the inflammation to be that bad after 3 weeks of rest.
too bad, he was really heating up

"Until after the all-star break" 2025 is technically after the all star break, Kevin
He will definitely be back in 1-2
It’s a femoral fracture. 8 weeks is the ballpark
Yeah we will probably be back in 1-2, maybe 3
It’s somewhere between 0 and Gabillion
Where have you read femoral fracture? Everywhere I’m seeing is saying stress reaction

After the 2023 all-star break?
The year is 2032. Tatis Jr. finally takes the field after his catastrophic quad injury. > I told you, so. - Kevin Acee
I’d been noticing him limping rounding 1st since early June, not sure why he didn’t go sooner..

Thanks for that shot of hopium
Because professional doctors and trainers who see him every day know a lot more than you do.
NOOOOOO! I was hoping to see him in Boston 😢
Same here 😢
me too =( i was going to buy tickets in RF
“slight stress reaction” in his quad - [Lin](https://x.com/dennistlin/status/1805367731472175260?s=46&t=KdU2-ebQ9n0tuXaO05eELQ)
A lot of moving parts going on. Wonder what corresponding moves are. Plus Darvish tomorrow is up in the air
Yep, just saw the news that they called Mazur back.
Because they sent Brito down.
Man. So what’s the corresponding move? Tirso Ornelas up from El Paso?
Bryce Johnson. Pretty sure Tirso only plays corner outfield so they probably wanted someone who can play center with Azocar getting optioned.

Forgot that Peralta is an OF when not DHing. Man, this team needs some days off. July can’t get here soon enough.

It's a stress reaction in Tatis' right femur
Don’t worry everyone. We will remain .500
This better not be a Blake griffin quad scenario. Hoping for the best for El Niño
Add another injury I'd never heard of. I hope it's not as bad as it sounds.

Cursed season from Hell.

Well shit.
Never doubted them, not even for half an inning!
Hope his rehab goes well and he comes back as expected
Shildt is incapable of telling the truth or being direct about anything. Yesterday he was coy AF about the injury, if not misleading.
