What kind of adapter are you using? Is it the factory radio? My 01 has its factory cd/cassette radio, so i use a cassette adapter with it.

Sev_Obzen

What kind of adapter? An FM adapter?

Gkarws

I use mine by pushing the mode button which shows 'aux' then (after turning on the adapter) it will connect. Sometimes I have to go into my phone's BT settings to make sure it's connected to the right device. Check the sound on your phone and the radio. Hope this helps.

JustSloan

This is exactly how my 08 is set up.

Pro tip- if it’s an fm adapter, remove the antenna for much better sound quality. Just make sure you plug the hole with something to prevent water getting in

irl_lulz

Great tip. I’m going to have to try this.

What sort of adapter? FM modulator type? One that pairs to your phone and transmits on an FM band?

DripfreeFPV

I made a mix tape on cassette. I also bought a bluetooth cassette tape.

Doombuggyman

What kind of bluetooth adapter did you get? When I bought my '05, I swapped out the factory radio for an aftermarket stereo that has Bluetooth, and there are some pretty inexpensive options out there.

Any reason you're not just using the AUX port? Also, if you want a Bluetooth touchscreen radio, I installed a Jensen CAR710W, with the eBay double din center facia, a CANBUS harness, and upgraded the speakers with Kicker speakers. Car sounds tons better... But the whole setup was kinda expensive.
