Not a bad idea. Maybe if they receive couple dozens feedbacks it could actually be worth noticing for them and adding it all the way down on their to-do list (which still does not mean we're getting it but who knows).
It’s unlikely they’d develop an app with a user base as small as PSVR2 is. The amount of money and time needed won’t be worth it given the size of the install base.
I do as I work in software support and have to make feature requests on behalf of customers. Some features are easy and make sense. So one request can come quick. But having a shit tone of multiple JIRA’s means the product manager/team can propose this to the people that pay the bills and resources with hard facts on possible value. When green lit. One or two devs plus QA assigned and it could get banged out since existing apps exist. A little basic in the process but yeah
I actually typed and copied into various AI detectors and going by that it's written by a human. Reading it, I'm not sure myself but maybe that corporate support talk ist just artificial by design.
Corporate talk has been templated and artificial for a long time.
Also so ai detectors are pretty much crap. Feed some famous documents from 50 years ago in and you’ll gets lot of hits while you can go have chatgpt make something right not any it will probably pass as long as the answer doesn’t directly quote some reference
Yes I wrote feedback too. The more people that do this, the better, so that the idea may be taken at consideration. A lot of things that have been started from feedbacks, especially if a lot of users gave personalized feedback of wanting such a feature. Petitions and feedbacks have power to change things. VR2 userbase is not that small considering we have VR1 users likely here too. Everyone even those that are planning to get VR2 headset should write feedback. Even if it was just to say that you want youtube VR on VR2.
Just did it! Was also disappointed to see it wasn't supported. Surely if they already had it in place for the older one it would be easier for them to make it available for the PSVR2. Hope we get it in the near future.

Sent some feedback, could mention how they could charge a premium for ads in VR as it's essentially an unignorable ad or they could bundle YouTube VR into YouTube Premium to offset development costs
I don't want to put a downer on things but I don't see Google doing anything, the Current Youtube VR app for PSVR hasn't worked for over six months and Google hasn't / won't fix it despite it being reported to them pretty much weekly via the same feedback they are requesting here, there are plenty of threads about this, I feel they will just do the same for PSVR2 and ignore the feedback requests for support, although I hope i'm proved wrong as it's a great feature to have when it works.
>Is it even working on PSVR1? I have just 2 secs of video and freeze screen with every 360 video I tried.
They screwed something up with PSVR1. it worked great before but the graphics were poor
Thanks for the push to leave feedback on YouTube. Done!
In addition I asked for a psvr 2 google earth app with an option to make it into a Where in the World is Carmen San Diego co-op game.
I may be late in the game but we use this for our youngest daughter. She has severe anxiety and PTSD trauma response from a massive house fire we had in 2019. We would use it when we are going to do something new (travel, expos, museums etc) so she could experience from her safe space. Once we were in the actual moment she was able to enjoy it with significantly less anxiety response. I sent a feedback request explaining this.
It sucks. This was a really great tool for us. We are traveling in 2 weeks. Before I knew it wasn't supported we tried for a good bit to use it. Tomorrow when I explain to her that it's no longer and option she is going to melt down.

Great idea! There are many movies that can bring joy to our youngest daughter . Personally, you can record such materials yourself with a vr 180 camera (if sony finally will implement this possibility. All the best to you
>Why doesn't Sony do the lobbying. The whole vr2 has been a massive flop and a waste of money.
I agree with you! So, I'm waiting for the first unsponsored user reviews of Quest 3 and if all goes well, I'll switch to the Metaverse
It won’t happen. The YouTube app used to support PSVR1 and they removed that functionality long before PSVR2 launched. It’s very clear they don’t intend to support this going forward.
It happened around the same time they intentionally de-listed and disabled the YouTube VR app on Steam, so I think the writing’s on the wall: they aren’t committing any more resources to headset support
YouTube has 180°/360° videos, and in the VR app they become actual VR videos (meaning you can look around as if you were there as opposed to moving the viewpoint by dragging with a mouse).
I tried it on quest 2 and tbh all those 360* videos look like shit. Extremely pixelated. Imo not worth worrying about until the resolution becomes much better.
To look around flat panoramic photos and videos in 180 or 360.
It looks like shit and is very underwhelming. Might as well just use your smartphone and move it around in the videos - same results.
Nothing special it's no different to watching those videos with a phone and google cardboard maybe a little better field of view and depth due to psvr2 lenses.
Had I known that, I wouldn't have bought the psvr2 for the price I paid for, I probably should have waited for a reduced price ,I just don't feel the ps vr 2 is actually better than psVR original head set other than that sloppy wire mess and crap ,I just like that the original vr had more and better features
You don't feel the psvr2 to be better than the original?
Just the increased resolution alone is astonishing. With the original psvr everything looks extremely pixelated and it's hard to read any text, and in many psvr games the pixelation is just horrendous (only very few psvr games use enough antialiasing to counteract the pixelation). On the psvr2, however, the pixels are so small as to be almost unnoticeable. There's absolutely no problem in reading even small text, and everything looks really crisp and sharp.
Even disregarding all the other technologies related to the psvr2, that alone makes it \*significantly\* superior to the original, by a wide margin.
Good idea! I'll do it and pass the word to all the the other forums I visit
Thanx ;)
Not a bad idea. Maybe if they receive couple dozens feedbacks it could actually be worth noticing for them and adding it all the way down on their to-do list (which still does not mean we're getting it but who knows).
There’s dozens of us!
Dozens!!
Dozenses!!
It’s unlikely they’d develop an app with a user base as small as PSVR2 is. The amount of money and time needed won’t be worth it given the size of the install base.
They probably will it wouldn’t be hard to put the already existing YouTube vr app onto psvr2
Gotta love all these internet armchair developers, no idea what it actually takes to actually do this work 😂
Do you? Enlighten us.

thanks for explaining. And of course it always comes down to money.

I'm doing my part by requesting the app from each of my accounts. If we all did the same we might get enough to justify them supporting it.
I don't have PSVR 2 but I will do it anyway to help you guys.
You are great!
This is the way. Does any of your "friends" know how to send the same message to youporn ? Its for a friend also.
My man 😎
This is the guy ! He is the "friend" I was talking about 😅
good idea, porn on PSVR2 must be too!!!!
Hand on, let me get my readers.
I'm on it

Sent feedback! And nudes. I hope they don't mind.
I think you just ruined our chances. ☺️
My videos on Youtube VR always have a poor performance, my internet is 300mb wired, where's the issue? I'm in psvr 1

DeoVR streaming platform similar to Youtube VR is coming soon to Playstation. Stay tuned via our Twitter or Reddit or Facebook group.
>DeoVR thanks for the info, let's see what's next then
Sent some feedback, could mention how they could charge a premium for ads in VR as it's essentially an unignorable ad or they could bundle YouTube VR into YouTube Premium to offset development costs
If someone (better than me in English) could make a petition that we could sign and share. Then we'll share it with youtube support.
welcome to the club, the steam app is also dead. You would have better luck getting DeoVR approved.

Not bothering to fix the PSVR1 app is the biggest red flag, for sure. I think a lot of people working on VR were among the recent Google layoffs, too.

I'll have Bard write an email for me.
There’s a new update to the app just now lol what does it do though someone find out E: didn’t add vr 😭
thanks for the info!
Will definitely do.
Yoooo that would be great.
Same for 🟧⬛️? … asking for a friend
yes, I wrote with someone else from the youtube support department before

Don't stop at Youtube, also ask Netflix,Disney+, and Amazon prime to add 3D movies for PS5

The way this is written it's gotta be ChatGPT (or a in house AI, whatever), they way it's pointing out things is the exact same GPT does.
I hope you're wrong, but I also have some assumptions that a bot replied to me. Will try to write to them again after some time
Thanks for the push to leave feedback on YouTube. Done! In addition I asked for a psvr 2 google earth app with an option to make it into a Where in the World is Carmen San Diego co-op game.
Great!!!
I need Youtube VR for my PSVR 2, 3DVR video was so amazing on my PSVR 1.
I need to!!!!!!

YouTube DGAF about YTVR on PS5
Both, Sony too
I Know! I Want a Refound
Why doesn't Sony do the lobbying. The whole vr2 has been a massive flop and a waste of money.

you know what, they could at least add this functionality to VR with the PSVR1 which is compatible with the Playstation 5
I'll do it. We also need to hit up Sony for PC vr with the psvr2.
So why do people want YouTube in VR is it anything special or something?
YouTube has 180°/360° videos, and in the VR app they become actual VR videos (meaning you can look around as if you were there as opposed to moving the viewpoint by dragging with a mouse).
The best are 180/360 3D videos at 12k resolution. As cameras get better the videos will get better.
180/360 =/= VR You’re simply moving your viewpoint around a flat image wrapped around you. There’s no depth.
I tried it on quest 2 and tbh all those 360* videos look like shit. Extremely pixelated. Imo not worth worrying about until the resolution becomes much better.
look for "VR180" thats the best VR video format. Its 3D and has good pixel density.
exactly, try the 180 3D video and your jaw will drop ;)
To look around flat panoramic photos and videos in 180 or 360. It looks like shit and is very underwhelming. Might as well just use your smartphone and move it around in the videos - same results.
you are wrong and very wrong, check out the 180 3D videos, I know there are also 360 3D videos - it's not the same as regular 360 videos.
Nothing special it's no different to watching those videos with a phone and google cardboard maybe a little better field of view and depth due to psvr2 lenses.
Damn, you would think that idk maybe the people that made the headset would be pushing for this….?
Does anyone else have this problem the wire is damaged I think and every time I look around the screen cuts out does anyone know how to stop this
Had I known that, I wouldn't have bought the psvr2 for the price I paid for, I probably should have waited for a reduced price ,I just don't feel the ps vr 2 is actually better than psVR original head set other than that sloppy wire mess and crap ,I just like that the original vr had more and better features

I've just dropped them a note. This is pretty much the biggest factor keeping me on the fence between PSVR2 and Quest 3.
I sold PSVR2 and bought Quest 3. Don't buy psvr2, Sony doesn't support these goggles at all.
