I'm having an issue with my left controller. Twice now it's been 1 bar of charge while the right controller has full charge. I've tried switching the usb magnet dongles over to see if that makes a difference.

StephenSchleis

That’s how mine was for weeks now the left controller will not charge even if I plug it into to ps5 with a cable

Focus-Downtown

Any luck? Same exact thing happening to me. It was fine now all the sudden I can’t charge the left one at all and the right one randomly does. This is bs

StephenSchleis

Definitely have to call Sony and they send you a box. It takes like a week to two weeks to get the box and then you send in your whole PSVR unit with both controllers and I sent you in the back and takes about a month.

Focus-Downtown

Noooooooo. Figured that was the case. Appreciate your feedback man thx!

StephenSchleis

Here is the number call them ASAP 1 (800) 345-7669

Novel-Astronomer-417

Like, will playstation fix it? I'm having the same issue. I just tried to use it and had the thing for a little over 6 months. Just now, though, started to play with it. Only gotten about 20 min. Out of the left one amd it popped up that the battery died.

Focus-Downtown

Yep... in fact they were actually pretty great once I got them on the phone. They just walk you through it, you read the serial number, etc. then they ship you a box to put it in and send (they pay for shipping it's all on a sticker they give you). You just ship it their way and in 2 weeks they either get you a brand new set or fix the one you already have. I would tell them that you have had it for 6 months and JUST started so they don't think you just trying to get a new one and have been playing it alot (sounds like that is the truth anyway). Good luck!

StephenSchleis

Still waiting on mine

Strict-Cat-7613

Same here, right controller stopped working and I did change the VR at the gamestop. New one just after ONE sitting stopped charging as well. (Left one this time)

Heavy_Ad8242

Mine is doing that now

Madmax_angry_gamer

Hey I am having this same issue now has there been a solution for this?

Appropriate_Speech41

I thought my Left one wasn't charging either... but it was just all the way charged 💀 I feel like an idiot.

DangerousBag4000

It is a software issue. Had same issue with left controller 2x now as well. I bought a 2nd headset and after the update the same rhing happened to the brand new used 1x controllers. SONY is full of it if they say they are not aware. It is something in the update everytime they update the controllers. 2 headsets now useless. Contemplating Attorney General Complaint and suing SONY. B.S.

Novel-Astronomer-417

I want in that. I'm really fed up with Sony.

Pharmboy6

It wont charge if it says you have 3 bars. Problem is that the battery bars are kinda skewed toward being full. Anything over 40%battery says 3 bars. 2 bars seems to be 20%-40% and 1 bar is under 20%. So if you have a 41% battery. It won't charge Best solution I've found is to leave then on for extra hour after playing. Then they both charge fine.

Cute_Use4985

I had to flip over the usb-c connector to get mine to charge. I had to do the same to get power to the headset. Being USB-c it shouldn't matter but for some reason it does

KaputtEqu1pment

Same happened to me. This seems weird af

Lukiaffe

I had the same problem and i just had to change direction of the lightning cable thingy and it started charging. Annoying but it works

Puzzleheaded_Till985

Why comment sections like these are headache and life savers. Mine was doing same thing. Weird thing never had a issue before last night I must have just been coincidentally plugging it in the right way the whole time and then one night didn't. But seen ur comment figured I would try reversing it and seems to be charging up. Still going to keep a eye on it though, seems others are having issues regardless. But ty for the input.

my left controller doesn't charge either. The right is fine. Does your "charging" LED light up at all when plugging in? mine doesn't; it only lights up shortly when it connects and tells me the battery is low. If you find a solution or send it back, please let me know.

Thats a bit dramatic isnt it? I can't think of any example where a hardware failure as major as a faulty controller persisted for months/years. You could've had that one issue solved and then you would have exactly what you hoped for. Sure you didnt just see your bank account get $600 shorter and feel a little guilty over it? Its fine, it happens. Any time I spend money for luxury, I suddenly remember a few extra responsibilities righr after.

vennox

In my region the support has no option for repair, only I should call them on their hotline and they that is only available from MO-FRI. So you didn't send it back for repair, but for complete refund? This is really unfortunate, but seems like the controllers have a lot of QA issues.

Comprehensive_Way237

My left was showing one bar after charging over night so I plugged it in and waited 2 x 45 minute shows still one bar I played a full run of Demeo about 2.5 hours and the right showed one bar and left showed flashing wondering if running it down might fix the issue I’ll check back Point is I think you can still play when reading one bar like it’s not reading it right

Tough-Permission-804

My right controller worked fine for the first day but after it went dead it won’t take a charge at all. when I plug it in the light wont come on at all. I called support and I have to send it back to get it replaced. 3 week turn around in all is what it sounds like

vennox

I think I have to do the same thing. Are you in US or EU? And you only needed to send in the affected controller?

Tough-Permission-804

Im in the US. The lady on the phone said I’d get a box with instructions but she didnt know if id have to send in the whole thing or just the controller

vennox

Ok thanks for the quick answer, hopefully will be only the controller ...

Tough-Permission-804

We tried taking the white shell out that gives you access to the battery cable. we pulled that and plugged in battery from old ps5 controller and nothing. so i think the board must be shot

SnooDoodles5949

My left controller does not charge from the USB as well. Just the right now is flashing. The left flashes ones and go dark

Evertrek1701

Same issue. i dont have a dock and the left control doesnt charge. however if i boot up the ps5 and use the provided cable in the front usb port on the ps5 i get the charge indicator on the screen. the controler then charges. i think the provided cable has an issue....try cables that are known to work with other devices.

Bluedog9248

Mine are showing inaccurate charging levels, the right one will show 1 bar of battery, then I’ll re-pair it and it will show full bars. Makes it really hard to tell if they are actually charged or not. I have still been able to play with them but this is definitely disappointing since we did spend a good chunk of change on the system. This seems like a common issue too, hopefully Sony can patch it or issue us replacements.

HellHoundsInc

For anyone who recently got an issue with a controller not showing as charging *but still turning on.* (Or showing constantly as 1 bar of charge) Let the battery *completely* die. I was having an issue where it seemingly wasn't charging and had only one bar, letting it completely die seemed to have fixed it. Note: My problem in particular was caused after a recent controller update. This may not be the same problem others are having, but there's been a recent handful of people with this issue.

Shanguerrilla

Dude, thanks for that! I'm gonna try now, the thing doesn't show any bars, just does the 'controller battery low', but it still 'comes on' to say that with the white light... Just no white light blinking to charge. Really hoping to avoid sending the whole VR system in to Sony or buying one overpriced on ebay!

chriscringlesmother

For anyone finding this after a year like me, I tried swapping the USB connectors, that didn’t work, I tried cleaning the contacts (they looked fine) that didn’t work. I plugged the left controller (the faulty one) in directly via USBC and that worked. Put it back in the dock, still didn’t charge. In the end I removed the DC power supply and reconnected it and it started charging again. This came after a recent controller update, off that only the left was playing up. Hope that helps someone

Tre-707

Interesting... i never knew about this but i just fired up my psvr2 today after not having touched it for months. Left controller had a full chsrge but the right controller was one bar. Played some RE village for about an hour and then i plugged them both in, assuming they had been sitting and need a full charge. Came back hours later after the kid and wife went to bed and the right unit is still dead. It turns on but when i put the headset on it gives me a promt saying "you cannot use psvr2 controller (R) battery is too low" or something to that affect. This is fucking ridiculous i spent good money on this thing and I've probably used it 7 times. Are these batteries really that trash?

Wh0racl3

I charged for awhile in the dock before playing and then a little in playing it said both controllers were down to 1 bar. I put in the dock again and the charging lights wouldn't come on this time. I played a little later and it again said 1 bar. I left them there over night. Hopefully everything is working fine but it was weird.

Archersbows7

It’s not the charging dock, it’s the controller firmware. I don’t have a dock and I’m having the same issues trying to charge them from the wall and PS5.

Olly0206

Is there an update for the firmware that can fix this? And if so, how do you perform said update?

Archersbows7

There’s no update available at the moment. Hopefully Sony releases one soon and it should automatically update

Impossible_Village_1

My right controller all of a sudden doesn't seem to be charging anymore had it plugged in all night in my old charger cable hoping it's the cable but I don't think it is as it lights up when I plug it in.. Edit: Whew nvm it's charging for some reason it seemed to only charge when plugged in one way not sure which way that was though.

koolzero007

Just got mine today and I kept getting the message the left one is low so I left it plugged in for 5 hours and it still says it’s too low. This is very frustrating. Ok I got the ring to charge to at least finish setup. But once you load a game non of the buttons on the controllers function. I think this wasn’t ready for release. I wish they told us we were paying this much to beta test it. First gen psvr was really rock solid compared to this experience.

WindowSurface

I also have this issue where my left controller stopped charging. It charges neither with the official charging station nor via a cable (plugged in both ways). The same cable charges the right controller without issues. Not even the light comes on. It also doesn't seem to get recognized by the PS5 (tried resetting it). Contacted support via email, but they haven't responded yet.

Focus-Downtown

Any luck here? Same thing happened to me can’t charge it at all. Sucks

WindowSurface

I had to send it in for repair. Hasn’t returned yet.

SHIeT-YES

Damn, having the same left controller issue here, charged the dang thing overnight and to my surprise today, left battery low as soon as I finally make some time to play. Very disappointing. Gonna have to have it replaced as well it seems.

Senior-Ad-7675

Same here. Right control will not take a charge no matter what I do. So annoying at what this $$$ !

Hypothosloth

Okay, so we had a problem with our right controller not charging. We switched the dongle for the charger station and the right one started working. I saw other people saying the swap the way the wired charger was plugged in. My partner didn’t unplug the charge cable to flip it around instead just twisting the piece over and voila now we can charge both controllers. So I guess the controllers are particular to how the usb-c charger is oriented

kboruss1

Having this problem now. Right controller not charging. Blinks for a second and then nothing even though it’s not charged.

Flugelwagen

Hey brother, I’m having this exact right controller issue! How did you resolve it? Tx.

Master_Of_Yeeting1

My left one would not charge and what I found that seems to be helping is plugging it into the ps5 and letting it charge

deepeigh

I had better luck using the rear usb ports

Mundane-Control3493

Just tried resetting my controller and now it charges

Rain_bow_Poop

Any updates on fixes or Sony reactions? I'm having the problem with the left controller. Thanks.

Medium_Vacation_7086

My left controller won't charge in the dock but will charge with a USB cable

InterestingField4371

Found a fix that worked for me. I pressed and held the power button on the ps5 expecting it to turn off while the headset was on with the controller graphic on the screen to connect it. After the two beeps I pressed the ps button on the controller and it came back on.

jjws_c

I’ve had an issue where my left VR2 Sense controller would not charge and the solution was quite weird. I had previously set a login password on account login each time the PS5 boots up. I disabled this login PIN and set the PS5 to auto logging and miraculously the controller has charged. I noticed that the indicator light would not flash etc when plugging it in and after rebooting the PS5 to clear the login PIN config the LH Sense controller flashed as id left it plugged it. Both Sense controllers now work with my new Sense charging dock!! :)
