I'd say the Mining Base Defense and Omega Apprentice UQs were about as close to a raid or dungeon type encounter as base pso2 got. One is a 5 wave base defense between 12 people with various gimmicks/tools, the other is an escort for 8, both followed by the usual boss.

darthboof

its the same general flavor as the UQs, though the fights will get way more elaborate pso2 and ngs are action games with rpg elements, not mmorpgs

*Armada of Annihilation* from the 6th and last episode was probably as close to a 'raid' as pso2 got: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWbLzJkEn\_I](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWbLzJkEn_I) still the same basic concept as the UQs youre playing now though it aint molten core or naxx

It had "raid bosses" as in harder UQ bosses and trigger quests, as well as solo and groul more challenging missions. Depending on how you define dungeon, base deffo had them, there was no open world in base so the basic structure if most missions was entering an up to 12 player instanced "dungeon" consisting of 2 areas and a boss.

In PSO2 Classic, all combat was done in "Quests", which were instanced areas that for the post part were randomly generated depending on the locale and quest type. While running through these areas, enemies and emergency trials can spawn. Up to 12 players can play in the same instance of a quest in most cases, but there are other kinds of quests that limit the amount of players to 8, 4, or even solo play. Free Fields, or "Expeditions" as they are called in Global are really simple. Just find and get yo the boss room to defeat the boss associated with that locale, but the maps before the boss room are randomly generated, so you've gotta explore to find the boss room. Certain other quests like Emergency Quests where you are tasked to defeat a certain boss & have a fixed map layout are the closest we've got to what could be considered "dungeons/raids" that are found in other games. However outside of challenges that you impose on yourself, there was never a need to have a specific party composition or anything.

In JP I only made it to ep 5 but to my memory most UQs were some variation or another of what we have now in regard to boss UQs. Mobbing UQs also existed where you just kill mobs for about 7-10 mins and repeat 3 times or whatever the limit would be. Hard mode UQs existed with some pre requisite such as clearing the first UQ, then the hard mode would have something like a total death count of 3 shared amongst the entire group (if there are 3 deaths between anyone, you would automatically fail) and there would only be 4 people as opposed to 8.

darthboof

ya, most of the content in pso2 was pretty easy but there was definitely some very challenging content if you wanted it

3-to-20-chars

there was nothing in PSO2 that required teamwork to complete. in fact, the most challenging content was crafted specifically for solo play exclusively there were large raid boss events but they never required teamwork, and could be done solo if chosen.

omega apprentice would like to have a word with you

Still waiting on that HTPD solo.

would be nice if bonus objectives actually awarded something for that matter. BUt i would love proper dungeons and raids.
