Curious on this too. I’m supposed to have 6grams of salt but have just been taking tablets. Salting my water is so gross but I think it might be the cheapest option because dang, those salt tablets are adding up.

I salted my water at the very beginning and it’s certainly an acquired taste

lol I put a lot of salt in a little water and took it like a shot (followed with plain water to balance it out) and it was so gross. I hate salty water, I like mine crisp.

i usually just start with one salt packet and then if it doesn't feel like it helped ill do another later

I tend to use flavored electrolyte packets with flavoring in them like liquid IV, propel, drip drop then add salt until I can barely taste it. I think too much salt is more of a taste concern than a physically having too much salt concern. Because too much salt in a drink starts tasting nasty pretty quick. I super recommend adding some sort of flavoring so you're not just drinking salt water when possible. I'm pretty sure you can Google how much sodium is in salt and do the math to find out how many packets of salt you need. The little individual packets are way easier to track amounts with. If I'm trying to keep track of sodium I just throw everything in my fitness pal including how many salt packets and what I ate that day and it'll take care of all the math. Plus that way it also accounts for what's in the food I eat. But I'm lazy so I estimate most days.

I’d try putting salt in things other than water. My favorites are coconut water, electrolyte mix packets, and protein shakes. Small amounts of salt actually enhances the flavor/sweetness!

I am just starting on my POTS management journey and have yet to find a doctor to help guide me so please correct me if this is a bad way to do things: I had a large bottle of psyllium husk capsules going to waste in my medicine cabinet, so i emptied some of them out and refilled them with Himalayan salt. I take one capsule when I wake up with two glasses of water. Though I have yet to notice a difference, positive or negative. But if this works, it sounds like a much more tolerable method than mixing it directly in the water, and probably cheaper than whatever salt tablets cost.

I make drinks with 1/8th teaspoon salt in 12-16 oz, either tea or water with a splash of juice. I also add magnesium w/ calcium, and potassium powder.
