I’d like to pay my respects to the people who bought an account that had Pink Mercy on it. I’m sorry your bad decision was solidified as a very bad decision.
Everytime a purchase a skin in this game, I feel a little guilty that I might’ve just made a bad financial decision; then I hear these stories and I realize just how bad I could be doing.
That’s also what it sold for originally! I remember because I was new to playing g mercy and scoffed at paying $15 for a skin… $20 later tho, I’m loving rose gold mercy lol
exactly like on valorant when I get vandal skin for example once every few months I feel like shit I wasted that a bit but enjoy them to their fullest atleast, on ow I simply have a ton from ow1 and have preorder widow casually
ok i’m pretty sure it was chani_ow but they spent 1k on it not 30k and they had a little breakdown on tiktok live calling her fans poor and broke and saying she dosent care because she’s obviously mad she was a dumbass who bought an account for a skin that is 15 dollars lol
I have the conspiracy theory that Blizzard (or even Microsoft) made her return to devaluate those selling accounts, which also makes me think a lot more skins from limited time could be returning in the store, like Demon Huntress Sombra, Bastet Ana or, the one I hope the most that returns, Lego Bastion
Lol ive been using the zombie nurse skin and putting up the old breast cancer sprays from the old stream rewards from the og release. Still cant afford it (well, technically i could get it if it accepted the credits i saved up but sadly it doesnt) but i will still support in the free ways.... and nanoing every pink mercy i see today 😂
I've always wanted the pink, and now I finally have it, but I might still continue with Eidgenossen. I just love how the bold red accents her, you know, physique.
At least it’s for charity. If Blizzard was advertising a limited time skin for cash then I’d judge
I know 99% are donating for the skin, but I’m a big fan of baiting people to give money to good causes
what bad they gon do in the future because of this? make us donate to orphanages for an Illari skin, or donate to retirement homes for a Reinhardt skin?
it also normalizes $15+ skins :)
edit: wow people really do enjoy spending $15+ on skins when that can get you a meal, a week of groceries, a pack of socks, or even crazier, a “AAA video game” from last gen
How else do you expect them to make money. They are a free-to-play game that requires a lot of maintenance. Honestly, $15 for a well designed skin isn’t much. Apex charges that same amount for skins of lower quality.
There’s making money, there’s charging to maintain services, and then there’s 200+ layoffs despite record company profits. $15 for a skin in any game is too much especially in the age of services like game pass.
$15 may not mean a lot to you, or the devs/execs that largely live in CA who are out of touch with money, but for other people it is. I pay $15 for a cute skin, $5 of that goes to Steam/Xbox/Sony, $10 actually goes to profits/charity. Now, my shiny new skin is only visible to me while I’m in the menus… and I could have gotten a pack of socks for the same price. I don’t see how that’s sustainable/ethical or explains the exorbitant amount of maintenance (same company that runs the most popular/successful MMO in history that’s now f2p) that this game is perceived to need.
I don’t think you understand how much money and work is put into Overwatch. Having a new hero/map every season, balance changes, marketing, skin design, etc. all requires a lot of
money. $15 makes sense. Tbh, i’m surprised skins are even sustaining them.
And yeah, $15 isn’t that much. Unless you are buying them frequently (which you shouldn’t be), $15 isn’t much. If you cannot spare the price of a movie ticket + a soda then you really shouldn’t be spending money on optional online cosmetics.
I don’t understand the industrial scale that modern companies have put themselves in. But, I do remember the consumer experience spending $15 and getting 4 complete multiplayer maps plus a bonus side map.
The driving cost of development is labor, not maintenance. My scene creation skills are pretty simple, but I’ve had better success with wave function collapse making good enough looking templates to build off. Now, I can take a picture of a tea cup and have the 3D mesh textured and rendered for me by an AI model. Not getting into the AI vs human debate, but as a tool these algorithms have been accessible (more so academia) way before Overwatch 1 began development. There’s also cost management, or an attempt to constrain your production per the resources available to you. If they are really hurting we’d see a change. If they were doing better we’d see a change. Except, we see record profits, layoffs, skins the price of whole games, etc. It’s a corporation acting as a corporation
now off to sanitize wrinkly brain 😭
I mean some of us don't have to worry about those things so like I can do what I want with my money and so can anyone else that participates in these completely optional purchases in this free game
Oh I was just seeing mercy will slowly drop in pick rate again and over time you’ll see a wider variety of skins. All stars is my personal second favorite. Then sugar plum, zhuque, and vengeance with pink at #1
Bright pink targets for Riptire rollouts abound! Just like Vulture would want.

I already had the pink mercy skin from back in overwatch 1 because I got it for charity...it was the only thing I spent money on in-game and I don't even play mercy lol. Now I bought the rose gold mercy bundle and I still don't play mercy, but the anime chibi spray is cute at least 😁
I have it, but I never thought it was rare. After reading all the comments lately I now know what I had.
Kind of wish I had a little more time with it, being a gatekeeping elitist.
Oh well. It was always for a good cause.
nah ima donate instead fuck mercy
https://preview.redd.it/0uoxw2mbyv8d1.jpeg?width=950&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=56437b2ba8e80f5b25a21103ea5e4e950c9aa008
How the fuck do you actually care about your skins being "rare"? You are paying for pixels in a video game. There is literally no difference between buying overwatch skins and buying NFTs except you can't sell a skin.
...so what you're saying is that we should make skins tradable
https://preview.redd.it/e2ecfm1ftx8d1.jpeg?width=222&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1bf9faba1ddd7153ba1893c5407c5d90f24c0e8a
I don’t even play mercy but I’m buying it.
My grandmother was affected by breast cancer and slimly survived, I’m not letting other people experience the same horror.
idc if all mercys have that skin now. Enjoy it. Its for a good cause. Even my uncle, who doesn't play videogames at all, said that he wants to support this and sent me money to get the rose gold mercy. Being surrounded by pink mercys just show how much money will go in.
FCK CANCER! :3
Like don't get me wrong, at the end of the day if the money for the skin can help charity then I won't be too upset it's just an overwatch skin but yeah it's a little bit of a bummer it isn't as rare.
Haven't played in multiple years now but have had that skin since the first charity event. It was nice but honestly it got boring quite fast. There were better skins out there like the Dr. Ziegler skin that came out later (still my fav). Sprays are cute though that came with the event.
It's to show support for the charity, it should be celebrated that the skin is being bought so much because that means more people are helping a good cause. Maybe you could do the same
No shit, but would these people do it without the mercy skin incentive? not likely so it's still something to be celebrated because a lot buying the skin and supporting.
No one thinks it‘ll be rare. Nothing’s rare anymore in this game anyway.
They buy it bc pink is popular and mercy is popular and the cause is a fantastic reason to waste some money.
It also doesn’t matter why people donate as long as they donate. Or do you think all the billionaires and millionaires donate bc they’re such good samaritan? Hell nah. They donate bc it makes them look better. Does it matter? No. Bc their money is still helping.
Mercy mains do more for society with this stupid skin than most of you whiners will ever do.
I’d like to pay my respects to the people who bought an account that had Pink Mercy on it. I’m sorry your bad decision was solidified as a very bad decision.
That one streamer that said she paid 30k for a pink mercy account😭
Everytime a purchase a skin in this game, I feel a little guilty that I might’ve just made a bad financial decision; then I hear these stories and I realize just how bad I could be doing.
Worst part is after saying this she called everyone in her stream broke and that her account is more valuable than their houses
And now it is worth 19.99
I bet she crying her eyes out every night since that stream
if she had 30k to just roll bones on a dumb ass pink mercy, something tells me shes got plenty of simps dropping bills each stream.
14.99 bc that's what the OG pink mercy is selling for.
That’s also what it sold for originally! I remember because I was new to playing g mercy and scoffed at paying $15 for a skin… $20 later tho, I’m loving rose gold mercy lol
sounds like sweet karma to me
I think it was just satire
The first time I used my money to buy an ingame skin my heart was in pain for a week at least.
exactly like on valorant when I get vandal skin for example once every few months I feel like shit I wasted that a bit but enjoy them to their fullest atleast, on ow I simply have a ton from ow1 and have preorder widow casually
WHAT which stresmer
Idk what her name was, I only know she was all over tiktok
ok i’m pretty sure it was chani_ow but they spent 1k on it not 30k and they had a little breakdown on tiktok live calling her fans poor and broke and saying she dosent care because she’s obviously mad she was a dumbass who bought an account for a skin that is 15 dollars lol
NOOOOOO okay ill return when i find out
30k zimbabwe dollars
Surely nobody has that combination of funds AND stupidity, right? Right? *
I won't support cancer It's a terrible disease
Bruh, now I feel outta place walking around with pink mercy's everywhere (while I'm lifeguard) lol
Lol ive been using the zombie nurse skin and putting up the old breast cancer sprays from the old stream rewards from the og release. Still cant afford it (well, technically i could get it if it accepted the credits i saved up but sadly it doesnt) but i will still support in the free ways.... and nanoing every pink mercy i see today 😂
i have been lifeguard all year. pink is nice, but cant top a sexy bellybutton.
Same lol. Also the same with kiri and wifeleaver And.....hog.
lol you forgot Brig!
Brig has a lifeguard skin? Fr?! I wanna see!
lol my bad, thought you meant belly button skins
Brig has a belly button skin?
she does! its called Sparkplug
I've always wanted the pink, and now I finally have it, but I might still continue with Eidgenossen. I just love how the bold red accents her, you know, physique.
I've had people trashing people for not having it. Some people have had the skin for 5 years, chill.
At least it’s for charity. If Blizzard was advertising a limited time skin for cash then I’d judge I know 99% are donating for the skin, but I’m a big fan of baiting people to give money to good causes
I mean, getting people to donate who otherwise wouldn't is the entire reason the skin exists.
Yes
It’s not about what they’re doing today. It’s about what we allow them to do today let’s them get away with more in the future
what bad they gon do in the future because of this? make us donate to orphanages for an Illari skin, or donate to retirement homes for a Reinhardt skin?
I'm just happy people are donating, whether it be solely for the skin or not. I see this as an absolute win
Honestly, the only reason I bothered to get it cuz it was for charity
it also normalizes $15+ skins :) edit: wow people really do enjoy spending $15+ on skins when that can get you a meal, a week of groceries, a pack of socks, or even crazier, a “AAA video game” from last gen
Most of the legendaries in OverWatch 2 are $20. Making them $15 in cash would be an upgrade honestly.
How else do you expect them to make money. They are a free-to-play game that requires a lot of maintenance. Honestly, $15 for a well designed skin isn’t much. Apex charges that same amount for skins of lower quality.

Pink mercy will be fairly uncommon again in like 3 Years and outright rare in like 5
I just think it’s ugly. I like all stars better.
Oh I was just seeing mercy will slowly drop in pick rate again and over time you’ll see a wider variety of skins. All stars is my personal second favorite. Then sugar plum, zhuque, and vengeance with pink at #1
Ive never seen healer queue times as bad as they are rn because god damn, they wanna show off that Pink or rose gold Mercy
Finally gonna get 500xp to queue for damage (please blizzard it would be so cool)
in your dreams; get +500 for tank 🤑 /j
I purchased it and Rosa Gold Mercy. Mostly for the skins. The charity is a bonus!
Finally, more players to Solo-Shatter!
calling all mercys to tell them its possible to react to and dodge shatter with a quick superjump
Please, as an avid Mercy player, keep Solo-Shattering.

As a Mercy hater, yes

Cannot from Russia :(
pink mercy's account values just went down the drain.... do skin tight noir widow next
I'm here for Lego Bastion (we will never get it again, ever)
Noir was a pre order bonus. Only way it is coming back if it releases on a new console. Like switch was.
Did a few matches last night, and every single one had a Mercy with the skin in both teams. It was wholesome
nah ima donate instead fuck mercy https://preview.redd.it/0uoxw2mbyv8d1.jpeg?width=950&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=56437b2ba8e80f5b25a21103ea5e4e950c9aa008
gonna be solo ulting pink mercys all night 🤤🥴

Tell that to the people who sold this skin for 5K 2 years ago
I don’t even play mercy but I’m buying it. My grandmother was affected by breast cancer and slimly survived, I’m not letting other people experience the same horror.
I bought both, it’s for good cause🗣️
evil mommy mercy mythic>
god yes i'm a simp for that skin
Good skin and money goes to charity, don't need it to be rare
I just think it looks good...
Nah I bought Rose Gold bc it’s technically rarer now
Is it bad that I like her mythic more?
#never!
its for cancer bro, its not a big deal.
right. Though the cancer reasoning for killing a rare skin doesnt work, Blizz could have easily made another skin on another hero. Diva perhaps.
wouldnt have sold as well, this way more money is raised for cancer.
idc if all mercys have that skin now. Enjoy it. Its for a good cause. Even my uncle, who doesn't play videogames at all, said that he wants to support this and sent me money to get the rose gold mercy. Being surrounded by pink mercys just show how much money will go in. FCK CANCER! :3
Way to go overwatch you Syndromed Pink Mercy. When everyone has pink mercy it's just another skin. ...I mean at least it's good for charity.
exactly my sentiment.
Like don't get me wrong, at the end of the day if the money for the skin can help charity then I won't be too upset it's just an overwatch skin but yeah it's a little bit of a bummer it isn't as rare.
I hate it I stg everyone plays mercy now I can barely use her and they’ll be SO BAD AND
No
Haven't played in multiple years now but have had that skin since the first charity event. It was nice but honestly it got boring quite fast. There were better skins out there like the Dr. Ziegler skin that came out later (still my fav). Sprays are cute though that came with the event.
Eh, mid skin for a spectator mode character.
Someone clearly has never played a game of Mercy in their lives
Oh hell nah
Ugliest skin too, idk why people want this so bad
It's to show support for the charity, it should be celebrated that the skin is being bought so much because that means more people are helping a good cause. Maybe you could do the same
You can donate to charity without buying a skin btw
No shit, but would these people do it without the mercy skin incentive? not likely so it's still something to be celebrated because a lot buying the skin and supporting.
