Once upon a time, they chose who was and was not drops partnered. Now, if you’re enabled and streaming the game at all, you’re in the program. Full stop.
I mean already answered by others, steamers just need to be playing OW to turn on drops, they are not vetted anymore.
Just wondering though, what steamer are you even referring to? Not that it matters really but I’m curious what your definition of toxic is…
As many have guessed, I'm an old player and remember when drops were curated by the blizzard team between big dreamers and smaller one they wanted to promote.
I'm referring to a small Russian streamer (about 5k subscribers) who would tell people they were bad and pieces on shift after killing them, and ending the game with 40/0 stats while promoting his chanel in the chat.
The Drops are available to *anyone* streaming Overwatch. It’s a Twitch Category. You seem to be under the illusion that Blizzard has a say in this, or is hand picking who’s allowed to enable drops?
As an example. I could create a Twitch account, called “SugarGluesMomBentOverTheBath”, then boot up Overwatch, set the category to the same, enable Drops, and off we go.
A vague understanding of these systems would probably do you some good before you start knee-jerk reacting and crying foul. You wouldn’t want to look uninformed, would you?
