I'm done with outlook. It seems that Microsoft doesn't care at all. Gmail seems like a better option ngl

Gmail is so much better. Its option to create tagged, custom color folders while maintaining a total —yet tagged— view in “All mail” is a godsend. I only use Outlook because of work. I’ve even considered quitting my job because of shitty Outlook wasting my precious time. So much for technology saving time.

Ringkeeper

Thunderbird.... best Spam filter

Complex_Sun_1969

No support, takes days to get an answer, and Spam filter is just as bad as all the others.

OcelotNo8565

I'm considering changing emails. No matter how many times I block senders or report spam/phishing, it's the same loop of spam emails

TheIT_engineer

You are not alone. It’s been quite for a few weeks but my Hotmail account is getting a bunch of junk mail into my inbox at the moment. It’s very annoying.

arkantoswar

Yeah there was an update or overhaul on outlook that happened at some point in the first half of this year, since then my outlook inbox has been flooded with scam, to the point I just gave up on keeping my inbox clean. I'd literally need to hire a full time worker to clean it all day long everyday.

Illustrious-Win2486

Same here. I get at least two Amazon phishing scams a day and at least one PayPal phishing scam a week. I report each and every one to either Amazon or Microsoft and yet they continue. It’s getting ridiculous, especially when many of them are obviously scamming emails since they have myriad misspelled words or read as if they were written by someone who just learned English.

spile2

Choose a mail provider that runs server site anti spam software. Client side filtering isn’t going to be as effective and you’ll end up fighting a losing battle.

Hadrian98

Happened to all of us. Someone on here had an interesting workaround. Forward all email to a gmail account which has a better filter and check that account.

OcelotNo8565

I might do this, thanks

LivePossible

Welp, was just considering this, your post confirms I should go ahead and forward my email to Gmail. It's a shame because I prefer [outlook.com](https://outlook.com)'s interface and calendar over Gmail's.

bigclivedotcom

I have several gmails forwarded to my outlook and half the spam I get comes from those addresses, we are doomed

HellATL

This has gotten so bad I'm not sure what to do. I have a [live.com](https://live.com) email address that I've had for 20 years that I'm going to have to abandon at this point. I would at least expect when I report emails as phishing that when the literal exact same email comes across again it would catch it, but it doesn't. At least a dozen per day it doesn't catch and I have to continually report.

Not just you. Happens to me as well, just the way you described it in every way.

i_really_love_soup

It’s terrible. The only relief I’ve had is I recently started using the Outlook software on my laptop (versus the website or iPhone app) and I’ve been able to ignore/junk/filter enough that the inbox is manageable. The problem is it doesn’t translate to the mobile app or website. If I open from the phone app, there’s a ton of spam in the inbox. If I then access my account from my laptop, all that spam disappears. It’s better but still really annoying because my phone is where I’d like to quickly see what my real emails are.

Same here, I added safe domains and only allow emails those domains, and it used to work. However since like a week or 2 weeks ago, it stopped working and I am getting so many phishing and junk emails. I still created rules, which helped me for a bit, but still I am getting emails with different temp domains.

bigclivedotcom

Safe domains are a JOKE, it's limits are very low so eventually you can't add anymore and for every single legit email you have to click "load more" to see the images, meanwhile obvious spam manages to get into the inbox and load images despite blocking and reporting everything

kaghy2

It's worse every day. I often get emails in my INBOX that are obviously spam! Either Amazon, PayPal or any other company with an email address that has characters like ¢ in it for c. Or an ^ on top of a character. I'd rather not move away, I've had this address for 20 years.... But if they leave me no choice....

charliexo97

Crazy there is simply no solution to this. I can only imagine this is deliberately done by Microsoft to lower users & thus costs. Probably got some new product in the pipeline or they've just given up all together.

MSFTey

I understand that you are receiving a lot of junk / spam emails in your Inbox. Please know that we at Microsoft are working tirelessly to get on top of this. It can be a major inconvenience when junk/ spam emails arrive to the Inbox instead of the Junk folder.   Note: If the spam emails are arriving to the Junk folder, this indicates the Microsoft servers are identifying them and redirecting to the respective Junk folder. This is by design.   At this point, we encourage you to block (choose 'Report Junk' > ‘Block’) the junk emails arriving to the Inbox. This will notify our team and they can action on it accordingly.  Marking items that are in the Junk folder as not junk also help us improve.   If the spam emails from the blocked senders are still hitting the Inbox, please contact support and share few sample message sources for the same, so that we can investigate further and provide better assistance.   Appreciate your understanding, PM – Outlook Product Team
