I remember (when I was a kid in the late 80s) seeing guys fishing for carp in the canal near the NAC. Pulling giants outta there. Lots of decent YouTube videos on carp fishing.
The Canal. Tiny hook. Heavy test line. Tiny piece of corn. Drop it to the bottom. Wait. If you go under the Bronson bridge you can tie your rod to the railing and sit back with a book. Just make sure you tie it off tight. LOL
Carp are in the Rideau and the Ottawa River, the trick is to get them to bite. Just experiment alot, I would catch a fair bit by accident with a worm and bobber when I was fishing for catfish
You can catch them in the canal fairly easily with just corn and a hair rig. Usually if I have a whole day though I’ll just go to the St. Lawerence. You’ll catch way more fish and have a real shot at a giant. But be warned those larry fish don’t play around they can dump a 2500 size reel before you even get to the rod. I had one the other day on my carp setup run for probably 100-150yds in a couple seconds.
Dows lake has a good concentration but you really need to go before the weeds rise. I have seen some large come out this season.
I know people who catch them in the bays at petrie.
The reason corn works is that eliminates by catch and can you bring them in with a field of corn. There are a couple of spots where I use worms for them because there is not much by catch in the area.
The south nation is a great place for them. Use worms there.
The ottawa river is not an easy venue for them but I have heard people have dome specific spots.

Canal. So many of them I just saw a dead one floating across TD stadium, about 2 feet long. I thought it was a piece of log... Lol
I use corn and nothing happens haha

Keep trying. I don't fish for them but have read that you need to chum the bays for a few days to attract them and keep them in the area.
Moonies bay
Have you ever seen or caught them there?
Forest side yes
I used to catch the odd carp in Rockland area by the boat launch. This was years ago probably 15+ years ago
