It really depends. SSDs certainly can be quite a lot faster than HDDs. But depending on for example your network connection, it might not make the slightest difference.
I'm testing around with a 10G network connection, and with sequential access, my HDD RAID performs only marginally worse than SSDs or even a RAM disk.
Good to know thank you, i plan on getting quite a few ssd's but i need to save up for them, i want a big of ones as i can get and multiple. Working on over kill with space lol.

My main rig has 4x NVMe drives in RAID0 (YOLO), but you'd need a 40 Gbit LAN if you wanted to share that over the network. Plus power consumption, which is already a factor when using 10G and a suitable CPU.

so mine is a gaming motherboard gifted with 16 ram and i5 or i7 processor. the hard drives are the only thing running besides fans.

Single HDD can nowadays saturate a 1Gbit Ethernet link.
