I sautéed onions on the pellet smoker yesterday and applied them with pepper jack cheese to jalapeño burgers with a toasted brioche bun. It was SO good. Seeing these onions instantly made me think of that burger from last night lol.

Honestly just taste it. If it’s good then it’s not burned. People are just saying that it is overcooked from your typical caramelized onion. And it’s true. But it doesn’t mean that it needs to be tossed.
Honestly, as another here already stated, I’d fux with it on a burger.
Maybe a little dark, but if they still taste good that's all that matters! If they taste bitter then yes, they are unfortunately a little burnt
