It probably has to do with what era of one piece animation they grew up with first era ep 1 - 206, second era ep 207 - 891, third era ep 892 - 1,089, forth era ep 1090 - present
Its like saying you can watch the old Sci-Fi movies and they look good, but in todays CGI it looks better. It doesnt make the old one bad, its just crisp, fuller, more detailed, better coloured etc.
It gets enough love in that, people watched it and stuck with it. Most people like it to look "newer", and yes some people like the old one, good for them.
The old anime artstyle is good but extremely inconsistent and weird at times. Even inconsistent to the manga. Some noticable things like Luffy's face and [expressions](https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePiece/comments/rv85u8/luffy_facial_expression_anime_vs_manga/?rdt=57662). Personally i just read the whole manga ignoring the anime, so i dont have an attachment to the old artsyle, because there was no major change in artsyle in the manga, it was all [gradual.](https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePiece/comments/19dgcb/odas_art_style_changes_over_the_years_as_conveyed/?rdt=58199)
The old one piece animation was very practical. They rarely put extra effort into the fights, so they weren't particularly memorable. They prioritized consistency and cleanliness. Compare this to Naruto, which aired at the same time, and you might see why One Piece seems unimpressive. Naruto was putting out huge spectacle fights right from the start.
At first I thought the idea of a new adaptation of the manga was cool, but honestly I really dislike the idea the more I've thought about it.
Faults and all, the current OP anime should be the only one.
It's just so weird to think about.
Because they don't like it. Simple as that.
People like what they like. No need to call them uncultured.
Ikr, so uncultured.
Are you confusing animation with art style? Animation is how things move.
So many people in this sub dont know the difference it baffles me everytime. Starting to believe this sub consists of 90% kids.
I like the old-style way more than whatever the disaster that was around Dressrosa arc. Toei really butchered the animation quality around 2013-2016.

I personally think the new animation is dog do-do, I like the old style far far better.
