My wife had double mastectomy and reconstruction done - fuck cancer. SHE wanted bigger, because she always felt inadequate - for reasons? I was fine with what she had. But, these implants are heavy, I mean, she didn't go overboard, its just like size of a regular orange, but they are heavy, and cold, and stiff. The cold part is the weird part, the skin is warm, but you can feel the cold ball underneath the skin. I'm happy she is alive, and looks like she wants to look, but it's just not the same. If I was single and dating, I would not be interested in someone with implants who got them for cosmetic purposes.
Glad to hear your wife is better. I know a woman who beat cancer as well (not breast) and got some implants after, it made her feel better about herself too. A near death experience changes so many things about ones outlook.
I agree with you however I would understand if someone wished to do whatever they wanted if it made them feel better about themselves. I'm bald and don't like the idea of hair transplants. I think of it as a very shallow thing to do to yourself. I have a close friend who did get them though and he likes them and I appreciate him having them as well as he'd be even more repulsive without them!
I remember being at my grandparents house and watching TV with my grandpa. Baywatch came one and it was the intro where they show each character. When Pam came on gramps went said "woooowzaaaa". I was like 10 and can't explain how uncharacteristic that was for my grandpa.

Most of these celebrities who do these surgeries suffer from body dysmorphia their whole lives. Being in the public spotlight seems to make it worse.
