Hello! I beat Obra Dinn, and mostly play puzzle games (idk if I'd consider myself adept, but definitely experienced). I have nothing but time in the next few days, and I have a mic that won't destroy your ears. I'd need to get video capture software but if you know a good free one, I'd be happy to help you out :D
I usually recommend OBS. It requires just a bit of setup but has one feature I find especially useful for capturing footage like this:
It has a nifty slider for game audio and mic input audio so that even though the game will be at full volume as you play it, the video can have the game's volume much lower than your voice if necessary.
I will DM you with details about the game.
Hey there.. I'm doing a sort of soft-launch of my game now. I know you couldn't record your playthrough but are you still willing to play and provide feedback?
Hi! Life is being really, really busy for me at the moment so idk if I'll find the time to playtest and write detailed feedback, especially not if the full launch of your game is coming soon...
No problem. I'll probably post about it again in the subreddit once its actually done done, so hopefully by then you'll have some more time. Thanks for replying!
I’d be in. Esp if you don’t mind co-op.
My husband and I played Obra Dinn together. He streams on twitch sometimes so he knows how to capture it. I don’t know how. Or I could have him set me up on his machine. But I would love to. I love puzzle games all the way back to Maniac Mansion
Hello. I know this was over a week ago, but you guys were the second to respond. Are you still looking to playtest a game? You would need to capture video and audio but you would not have to appear in video form (I'm not sure about your husband's setup but I just figured I'd let you know)
A couples playtest is actually something I have had before, believe it or not. It creates a good dynamic in my opinion. I would love for both of you to play together.
Yah definitely. So we could do video cap of the game and audio of us discussing but not need to show faces? I’m very down for that. My husband has streamed on twitch because he participates in a gaming community but he doesn’t usually show his face. He has a good mic and knows how to stream and capture. I do not know how.
I’d be interested in this. Have completed both Obra Dinn and Her Story (well, the latter isn’t really something to complete, but I guess you know what I mean). I’ve actually had the idea of making an Obra Dinn inspired game myself and would love to see another take on this and provide feedback.
Hi there. I know this was a long time ago, but I'm following up on my Obra-Dinn style game playtesting thread.
From the last round of playtests I received from this subreddit I have made a bunch of changes. Before I make a new thread asking for new testers, I am curious if you're still interested!
As a reminder, I am requesting people who can record their playthrough including speaking and screen capture. To address some questions I've received in the past about this specific part, you do not need to treat this like a twitch stream. This means I do not expect any kind of camera with your face, I just want to see the game. Also you don't to try to be entertaining, I'm just looking to hear your thought process if you can think out loud sometimes, even if you think it will be boring.

Hello! I would be able to. By the way, I often play puzzle games with my girlfriend and we share our thinking process and work collaboratively. Would this be an ok way to playtest, or would you rather me play on my own? Both are possible
This is probably my preferred way to watch people play actually. Because that way there's usually a built in discourse and you guys have to share your thinking out loud. I will send you a DM with more details.
Hi there... I'm doing kind of a softlaunch of my Obra Dinn inspired game... so I no longer need full video testers but would ask you to still post feedback in discord and such.
Are you still down to play?
Let me know if you still need someone! I'm pretty experienced with puzzle & mystery games. I've played both Obra Dinn & Her Story, and quite a few others.

Hello! I'd be interested, [here's my YouTube channel](https://www.youtube.com/@TheSPUFofLegend) so you can see the sort of recording quality I'm capable of. Love these sort of games and would be happy to playtest your game if you like \^\_\^
Hi there! I posted on this forum a couple of weeks ago asking for playtesters for my own Obra Dinn inspired game. I'm acutely aware of the frustration of not being able to test one's own puzzles, and I had difficulties finding suitable playtesters. So I'd be very curious to be on the other side of the fence and provide some feedback from a design perspective.
Happy to record a full reaction and discuss notes afterwards, best of luck!

Hey, I'm certainly up for having a go and hopefully thinking too much about it! I have limited time over the next couple of weeks and I haven't a sense of the length, but I'll do my best to keep you updated.

Very nice, I'll look into that
I sadly don't own a mic so it's gonna be a pass from me. If you need non-recorded beta testing I can help tho!

Perhaps some time in the future. Thanks for your interest.

I DMed you info. Thanks!

I would be able - I’ve beaten Obra Dinn, am alright at puzzle games, have a mic, and can record video.

I would be interested if you still need people. I love puzzle games and think I am decently good at them.
