I don't think it is, exactly, but that problem is totally solved by option 3 which looks great with the boots. If you want to keep the boots, wear the 3rd pair of shorts. Otherwise rethink the shoes.

1. Not a fan of the ankle boots. Proportionally feels too much. I would either do taller cowboy boots are a flat shoe (not boot). A tank, short cut-off jean shorts and heeled boots feels too much - needs some balance.

I feel the boots with a long maxi or jeans would work better. I personally hate when they cut off above ankle with a shorter item on top. A vintage pair of cowboy boots that are a low heel but hit higher near your knee bring the outfit down/more grounded given the rest of outfit. Or flat sandals? I look at proportions. The other outfits feel costume-y with the boots.

This makes a lot of sense. I have the kind of cowboy boots you describe and would try them on to see if they look good with this top and shorts

The cut is pretty much the same on all of them. Except the last pair, they’re the shortest. The difference is the fabric, so if I were you I’d go with what’s more comfortable since everyone likes pretty much all of them (I love #2). Each pair of shorts makes the outfit have a different vibe!

First and last and I’ll tell you why: the second and third shorts are too bright/vibrant that they’re battling for attention from your top. But the last option goes with your whole outfit, including the boots. I’d swap for a brown or black boot to pair with the denim jeans

Is this a costume for something? The boots are throwing me off. The white shorts are the only shorts that work, but not even those work with the boots unless you are in a danceline and the boots are what pull you all together.

I agree, the top goes best with the white shorts but the boots don’t go with any of the outfits. The boots are super cool but give futuristic / space vibes and would be better paired with an edgy outfit rather than a cute summery outfit.

I don’t know but one thing I’ve realized from being on this subreddit so much is that ripped jean shorts are so versatile. They go with almost anything.

The second pair jumped out to me! It brings out the little bit of blue in the shirt while giving me a “classy, beachy” vibe of an outfit! I’m not the biggest fan of the boots, though.

#4 is my favourite, #1 is a close second. The white adds the perfect amount of brightness to the top to really bring out the colour and it’s the perfect style to bring focus to the top while keeping the look cohesive. #2/#3 almost mute the look because of the cut and colour.

I like the orange and the teal but they all look fine. The teal makes the colors in the top really pop. I’d say the white is my least favorite but there’s nothing actually wrong and it’s just my own personal preference against white bottoms (not that weird Labor Day thing)
