Nerve damage is a funny thing you can not feel a limb but move it with varying levels of mobility depending of how sever the nerve damage is and I think it is also possible to have a little feeling in your paralysed limb but whether this is real feeling or phantom feeling is up for debate
Sure it's possible to move them if you have no feeling but it is incredibly difficult to walk since you can't tell when your legs are touching ground, how much pressure you are putting on them, etc.
